If Spike gets any quieter he would be Angel. Oh, wait - Angel talks more. Dawn asked me what this means for the future of Spuffy. I think if he keeps his mouth shut she will be in love with him in about 2 episodes. I also think that if he had just shut the hell up for the bulk of season 6 she probably would have fallen for him then. Buffy is a sucker for the silent, mysterious types. I had one of those once. As it turns out he was just really stupid and truly had nothing to say. Live and learn I suppose.

So did Buffy have sex with that guy? After last year I don't think she is the type to just take it all slow. Especially under a spell. And she called him her lover. I vote yes, she did have sex with him. This could cause a number of problems - namely, he is still a student. Of course at my old high school, if he was a female athlete and Buffy was the coach that would be expected. It is very, very sad but I know of no less than 3 coaches (male) that had affairs with student-athletes. This was in four years and I wasn't privy to any private information - these were the incidents that everyone knew about. Oh - and Dawn says, "Fuck you Joey Downs!" She is still bitter that the money for her team's CD player for the locker room went to pay for the Co-Captain's abortion. I guess her old coach thinks he is all redeemed since he married the point-guard (same team, different girl).

I liked Dawn in love (Buffy's sis - not mine - although I like her, too - just not the point I'm trying to make) - the more irrational she became about RJ the more I recognized Cappy in her. I don't mean Cappy is crazy, gonna lay down on the railroad tracks (right, Cappy? - just don't - kay?) but the initial way she fell sooo hard...it was almost painful. Good thing they made her so goofy because I don't buy for a minute that MT is not drop dead gorgeous and would totally be sought out at that school. Buffy cracked me up criticizing Dawn's clothing. Buffy wore less then that to study hall for 3 years straight.

I am so happy. Xander and Spike are together again. I want more bonding. Hee.

Also - Willow. I am in love with you again.

All is well with me tonight. I think I'm gonna pull some more clips and work on the bridge to Closer. I start test-driving soon.

Well... when Xander walked in Buffy was sitting on RJ's chest (not crotch, I paused to make sure), and his pants were still up.

So I'm thinking they didn't... but they were definitely going there. And I didn't even pay attention to the 'My lover' line. It was Buffy trying to upset Spell!Dawn (who wants Spell!Buffy's man)... Anya called him "my boyfriend" two seconds after meeting him-- and never having touched him.

That's just my thoughts on it.

You make a very good point. I only watched the episode once last night (Dawn missed Sunday's Angel) - and true as well about Spell!Buffy wanting to upset Dawn. So now I change my vote - I vote, no - she did not have sex with RJ. I'm very easily swayed and influenced as a rule. I would like to add that if it were season 6 Buffy she would already have her skirt hiked up and Spike would be giving it to her against the wall by the time Xander showed up. This is why I ::heart:: Season 6 Buffy.

I admit, all through this episode I was toying with the fantasy of Spike seducing Buffy to make her forget about 'him'...
