Vid Rec - 5th Element!!!

permetaform has finished her vid and it is a doozy. I'm still all in shock of her mad skillz using Premiere (her previous vid "Why" for SV was made using WMM2) - let loose with an NLE, she pays attention to *everything* - watch the vid to see how she manipulates color to maintain mood - I'm all with the happy.

Ranting that Should Probably be F-Locked, But Isn't

There were kerfuffles and I missed them? Any new ones or was it the same old same old slash is of teh debil and we are all going to hell in new and inventive ways dealio? Cause not much skin off my nose if so.

Nummy Treat looks ripe for a meltdown and yet I still post. I am trying to let go. This is me stepping back. I want to talk vids and critiques and techniques and have an actual dialogue, but I feel like I spend half my time apologizing for taking vidding seriously and the other half assuring people that I am not judging them and *still* we have to deal with the egos.

Cutting for a rant and lots and lots of cursing (I'm frustrated). I don't rant often and I don't seriously rant about things other than Best Buy - like ever - but I am here. ( Read more... )

We All Start Somewhere...Vid Posting for Posterity

Okay - last post has generated some great ideas and instead of whinging at Nummy Treat or trying to take back the treat, I am beginning to think y'all are right and giving up and starting anew might be the thing to do.

And while I talk and talk and talk about why critical review is important and it is important to work on your craft and no one improves in a vacuum... it is time to stop telling why and showing...

Here is my first vid. It is Spike and his women (and Angel) and it is to Gordon Lightfoot and it is unbelievably bad - and there is a Riley/Buffy sub-plot. See, I thought, like TV shows, a video should have a A story and also a B story.
