sisabet: (Puppies by Monkey)
Tonight is The High Holy Day of Obligation - so tune in, turn on the WB and check out the purty. Just an reminder. It's not like you make me cry by *not* watching Angel. Well, at least not in public. Hee - watch Angel or you will make the baby Liz cry. The previews for SV have me concerned - but in a good way - and I have it on good authority that tonight's ep of Angel rocks. I hate being at work and not at home watching the wildfeed.

Speaking of home - I'm breaking up the team! Well, actually - let's blame Dawn and her evil, tyrannical ways. She is in the process of maybe, quite possibly, yes I think she is gonna do it, buying a house. Which is all kinds of cool. What is not cool is that Dawn has aged into a bitter, cold and unfeeling woman who hates animals. Tsk, tsk, tsk. I know she did not get this from our parents, I think I blame early exposure to a certain animal-hating aunt for this. I mean - when Roy, our old Doberman, was ill and dying Dawn (I think she was 15?) sat outside in the back yard all night with him until he passed so he would not be alone. And he had really bad kidneys at this point and smelled so it was really a very nice and caring thing she did. Also, kind of out of character. If the writers of QaF had her doing that, I would be all up on some message board going "Omigod! Dawn would so never do that. These writers suck." But she did do that, so I had hope for her. It was actually one of the few childhood memories I possess where I actually had hope for the soul of [livejournal.com profile] drdawn.

That hope has fled. For some unknown reason, Dawn does not want my wonderful, docile and quite well behaved dog in her house. I can't imagine why - something about how he sheds, barks all the time like a maniac and likes to express his displeasure with her by, um, expressing displeasure on her bedroom carpet. Picky, picky, picky. So I am now looking for an apartment. I'd actually rather have a house - with a yard and I want to live in the Chevy Chase area. The boy will still be looked after, but now I will actually have a teenage free zone in which to hang. Dawn will also have lost her by default Friday and Saturday night babysitter. Since the boy starts high school in a few months - this is probably a moot point and HEY!!! I see how she is. Yeah - as soon as she *doesn't* need a babysitter it is all "Kick Liz to the curb, buh-bye!" Oh, I am *so* gonna call up Cousin Julie-Buffy and talk trash about Dawn. I was gonna do that anyway, but this will give us a good extra ten minutes of conversation.

So now we are fighting over who gets custody of our friends. Specifically, where do our visiting friends stay whilst in town? Dawn lobbied and got [livejournal.com profile] valereix and Mike by insisting that she is gonna start collecting Angel ornaments and she must have Valerie stay with her so she can see the ornaments. It was a really lame argument, actually, but I let her win with plans to kidnap Mike and Val with a cover story of checking out a horse farm and just not telling them how to get back to Dawn's house.

I insisted that I get [livejournal.com profile] heres_luck - especially on the grounds that the last time hl was in town, Dawn wasn't even here half the time (silly work conflicts - like those kids in the ICU won't be *fine* if left alone) and when she was here she made hl watch "Elimidate" and thus lost all hl-hosting privileges. She then countered with "Well, then I get Lum." This only served to *piss* me off and I think we are actually gonna have to just rotate Lum from house to house.

Who gets [livejournal.com profile] renenet had to be tabled because the fighting was starting to get vicious (psst - but we all know that I will win). Dawn gets [livejournal.com profile] truthseekersara by the default that her house will be the animal free zone and since I am totally understanding and only want to see TSS comfortable, I agreed. Also, I don't think I am allowed to have [livejournal.com profile] undercoverbro at my house, but Dawn's reasoning is a bit fuzzy on this. At this point we started cooking up a reality TV show starring me and UCB, kinda like "My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiancee" but since my family is already kinda there they would not have to hire any actors. It'd be great. Chaos. I see fainting.

Speaking of "My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiancee" - if I brought that guy home - my family would be thrilled. He would fit right in - hell my uncle would probably make him his new best friend. Cause in my family, nothing says I love you like "pull my finger."

People Saying Smarter Things than Me

[livejournal.com profile] heres_luck is one of the most intelligent people I know. She can also explain things really well to - well...me. So, she has tackled "Narrative Vids" and just go read her fascinating post.
