I'm amazed, in awe, and just absolutely in thrall with this:

The Importance of Being Brian By julad

I am so amazed that I dusted off the html tags. I wish I could do more. I want to start a foundation named after this fic. This fic makes me want to be a better person, a kinder human, this fic makes me want to do stuff to justify my right to exist in the same universe as it because it is just that good. I should probably volunteer again or something.

You see - Justin Taylor is Brian Kinney and not in some lame-ass body-swapping way or in the equally lame way my sister (I got a ton of new people reading this LJ of late - I live with my sister and her son and I generally talk about both without bother of interuption so I apologize for any confusion) drdawn decided that she was Brian Kinney a few months ago*.

This fic and fics like it is why Austria exists. I could cry.


*Dawn has said that her quality of life has improved immensely since she decided that she was Brian Kinney and I can testify that she does seem much happier. Or as happy as one can show when they are Brian Kinney. Word of caution: being Brian Kinney should not be attempted by everyone. In fact, only folks that are kinda like Brian Kinney anyway (Type A Personality Guys - I'm looking at you) should even try it. Otherwise, you'll be at the bar with a ton of friends and quite possibly embarrass yourself tremendously. If you don't think you can pull it off (I know whereof I speak) then you can't.

Still Not A Fic

So, here is more Body-swapping plotsploration. I read Julad's "The Importance of Being Brian" today and then Mint's WoTD and Wren's Reaper Boy and Joss's Special Hell fic and trust me: this is not a fic. It is something.

Kinda like Austria, it is full of "historically inaccurate pretension."

And fandomwank is both a salve to me in troubled times and a bane to me in others. How can something so funny, be so very bad?

And I had no idea we were about the partitioning of Poland. Why would we want to partition Poland? Can any possible good come from that?
