Here is the deal - I refuse to be depressed anymore. I am putting my foot down. If you could see me now, you would see me wearing my determined face. I mean business, people.

I have been really disconnected from all the vids that I have started and unable to even get into any new projects and I am sick of it - I am blah, but no more. I saw Luminosity's new Highlander vid and now I want to vid again. Inspiring doesn't even begin to cover it - as soon as it is posted I'll link to it. I'll also talk more about it then cause it is just plain mean to go on about this incredible vid that isn't even up yet.

Apparently, out of all the LJ BtVS characters, only [livejournal.com profile] thefirstevil and [livejournal.com profile] d_minion seem to be cool with the slash vids, hence I have friended them. Of course, I friended them a long time before all this, so maybe those psychic skills I wanted to develop are finally coming to pass. Whoopee! Although, I'm kinda perturbed that Xander doesn't like me...

Okay - Farscape in half an hour... Watch it. Please. You'll like it. If you have a Nielson Box watch it twice (repeats later on). Remember how for seven years you wanted to find out what the hell happened to Samantha Mulder? Remember how frelling cheated you felt after watching "Closure"? She what? And the Starlight who? WTF? Not gonna happen tonight. Watch "Terra Firma" and there is emotional payoff. And angst. And it just gets better. Watch it and mourn its passing but watch it.

I am not a shippy person by far - but I am so down with John and Aeryn -- they are my big honking chunk o' destiny. I make shippy screencaps for VCD labels. I make myself sick with the schmoop - cause I buy it. Hook, line and sinker I love that poor bastard John Crichton and he loves her. Truly. And she loves him back. And that baby may not be his but he will never be all "Sorry you had to give away your baby, Scully. Know you liked that kid and all." Damn.

Maybe I'll work on the Farscape vid later...

That's... amazingly relieving to hear. I was afraid I'd always be denied emotional payoff with the show being cancelled. I don't want to know spoilers, but just knowing that it's good is...good news. I've never done much fandom for this show (not even really any fanfic), and I haven't seen every episode by far, but I've nevertheless been heavily invested in *watching* it.

Hook, line and sinker I love that poor bastard John Crichton and he loves her. Truly. And she loves him back.

I feel exactly that way-- watching "Dog With Two Bones" or whatever it was called... my heart was visciously ripped to pieces watching her walk away. I was throwing candy at the TV and going "NO! NO! You love him! He loves you! BE HAPPY, dammit!" And in the episodes since I was prepared to hate Aeryn for dumping John, but instead I've found my heart breaks for her too, especially with her trying to learn English and reacing out to him again... I just love them both. And plus--- who doesn't love a couple of hot people who look great in black leather?

Since you seem to be up on the FS knowledge though, maybe you can answer something I've been wondering-- in 'Unrealized Reality' Aeryn is reading a thin booklet that supposedly is helping ehr learn English-- where did she get it? John hadn't seemed like he was helping her much with the English-speaking campaign, so who wrote the primer, and how did Aeryn get it? John would be the only one among them who knew how to write it.

If you can answer me this without spoiling tonight's episode, of course. :)

I have no idea where that book came from - unless it is something that she got from black t-shirt Crichton (remember - before he died she was all set to go to Earth with him) or it could have just been a journal of John's that she swiped. I don't think we ever saw the journal's origins - but I am rewatching a lot of episodes lately trying to finish this darn vid - If anything else pops I'll let you know.

Ok, thanks. I guess the likeliest answer is probably the dead Crichton, as they ahd a lot of travel time togehter in which he could have written a something like a primer and started to teach her.

Oh - I love that scenario! Aww... I think my heart just went a-flutter and my heart never goes a-flutter (of course I use never like Buffy uses never). Sigh.

hey, did I spark a fic-bug in you? Cause now that you mention it, my hart is a-flutter too. I'd love to read something about it.

Farscape fic? Hmmm... I don't think I'm creative enough to pull it off? Could you write it? Cause I want to read it too.

I would, I'd love too. But I missed a lot of that time of the show, especially the eps on Talyn. I ended up mostly catching the Moya-John episodes.

I think you're creative enough to pull it off! Just look at your vids--- creativity is not a problem. I don't know as to yoour skill as a writer, but I've noticed that in online fandom, the people who do very well at fan art tend to be good at fic too, and vice versa. Try it! And I'll throw up the challenge in my LJ to see if anyone who reads me wants to try it...

Thanks bunches for reminding me.

I would have forgotten to set the VCR and then Lucifi would have killed me or grounded me from the internet.... or something.

just for that, a little something special for you.

*bodice*

Is it wrong that I get a kick out how excited it makes you when I say that?

This is a normal progression when you're vidding. I go through it, other vidders that I know go through it. Usually (which is why there's method in my madness), if someone will just talk about vidding with me, I can get past it. One thing that I've discovered--the thing that sometimes makes me feel disconnected--is when I have more vids in progress than I can handle. Then, I just *put some away*. I mean, really. I pull them off the HD and onto CD. When I finish what I'm working on, I'll pull one from the pile and begin again. It's a carousel of data!

OTOH, if I helped you vault past it, yay me! and yay you!

:)

p.s. Swing is announced. Go get it!

Whew! Thank goodness. I would have blogged about it yesterday, but I got a migraine from my vid (there may be too many flashes there - hee).

And you did help me get back into a vid, more than you will ever know. "Middle of the Road" would be finished now if Premiere would only cooperate.

Well, that's totally cool! I'm a little uncomfortable, though, NOT being the bad example here.

OTOH (On the other hand LOL), the idea that you're in the middle of a vid that I *know nothing about* is disconcerting. heee heee I can't wait to see it. And while I'm thinking about it? I sure would like to gaze upon Mission Temple one last time before I die.

Mission Temple - I am so getting back into Mission Temple soon because I finally know (and I think you do as well) what I need for "Running a fireworks-stand" --Heee! The more I delay, the more excited I get, so I'm gonna start another vid in the interim and hope that we get some footage soon of Spike, shirtless and reading the Bible. Cause that would be all smoky and cute...

Middle of the Road is finished now - wanna see? AIM me, I'm still really insecure about it. You saw an early draft of it months ago (probably in October - Pretenders, Buffy POV - everything moves really fast) - I worked on it before I started Mission and then Closer took the entire computer over...
