So I liked Angel last night. Shoot me now, but I'm not in the mood to be critical...actually, no I am in the mood to be critical, just not about this. I have major fandom depression; is this normal? Even when The X-Files was going downhill, I was okay - there was stuff to watch. But now, if what keeps going around is true, it is the last season of Buffy and Angel. WTF? I was relying on Angel having at least a fifth season. Add to this Farscape's cancellation and I ask you: what the hell am I going to watch? Friends? Fuck that - I won't.

I would say that there is sure to be a new series that is well written and acted and has intriguing characters and a well-defined sense of whimsy - except recent history assures me that is such a series were to exist it would be canceled in the first 12 episodes. Meanwhile, Joe Millionaire inspires 100 spin-offs...

So what am I gonna do with myself? I may be forced to get a life *shudder* I don't really want a life - I like staying at home just fine, thank you very much. Yesterday I considered throwing myself into my work, but the kind of work I do does not exactly engender itself to being something one would throw themselves into... kinda like a volcano. Maybe I will travel? Anybody out there want a generally perky, over-talkative with a touch of obsessive-compulsive disorder houseguest? I'll buy dinner.

Personally, if this is the last season for both, then I plan on going into a state of denial and pretending that the show is on, showing pornographic episodes of hot sex every week, with no commercial interruptions, and these episodes will last up to seven hours at a time. Everyone will screw each other silly, and sometimes, one of them will die so that there is angst.

Denial!TV -- it'll be beautiful. *g*

I will join you and from our perch in denial-land we will thumb our noses at all the poor schlubs that think it is "over" -Yay! Also - you had me at the angst...sigh.

This sounds doable. If your OCD matches mine, we'll be honky dory! How do you feel about gumbo?

RE Angel. Hey, I liked it, too. It was a journeyman ep, IMO, in that it propelled the plot along. Wondering about W&H's satellite offices now. I'm going to miss hating Gavin. Thought distraught Lilah looked very vulnerable and sexy. Loved Angel's attitude re C/C. heh.

As has been posted on list? Cordy's boobs need their own place in the credits. They've become regulars now.

And somebody? KILL Gunn. I swear. He's the picture of masculine insecurity, and for God's sake, man!! Wes took a fuckin' *bullet* for you!! Fred's just a chick. Get over it. Sorry. Sorry. Ranting took over for a second.

Oh! Is Angel using Grecian Formula now? His hair looked tres noir....

Yes!!! Gumbo - absolutely love it - killing Gunn -getting there (quickly btw - Wes also pulled Gunn's unconscious ass outta the wreckage and held him while the sky rained fire and Gunn still ain't his friend - whatever)and Angel is so dying his hair right now - I thought he looked a bit off, but I attributed it to stress and the quickest ever healing of a penetrating stab wound EVA! The stake in the neck wound looked like a mere hickey.

My OCD sometimes means I start a task and then get distracted by a tiny little portion and totally focus on it to the detriment of the task as a whole. It can be cute and it can be scary. Dawn asked me to clean the kitchen at her old house one time and I got stuck putting the coffee mugs back on the shelf. She came home a few hours later and the kitchen was still in shambles and I was still standing in front of the shelf. The mugs, however were perfectly spaced. Truly a thing of beauty. Really.

Hey, you're welcome here anytime, especially if your OC means you'd pet the cats a lot. They'd love that. And I love dinner, so we'd be all good.

Cats will make a welcome change from the 50lb dog that sits in my lap at all times. Ouch. Hey - I love dinner too! Cool.

What's this about Angel being cancelled??? I was just beginning to prepare myself for the great sucking vortex of No Buffy. Angel was going to be my crutch. Please don't let this be true. Frankly, whatever happens with Angel, losing Buffy is going to feel like death. I might need to move to another country.

Don't fret - see above post and join me and Annie in watching Denial!TV. It will work. It has too.

You're welcome anytime, as long as you're not allergic to dogs, especially ones who need constant attention. And if you make dinner, well, hell, stay as long as you like. Although I'm not sure you want to venture to Calgary in the winter. Some days are just lovely, and then the next day we have evil, evil cold.

I noticed that Cordy's hair was darker again, and that made me happy, because Blonde!Cordy was just All Wrong. It still needs to be darker and longer, though.

And this CAN'T be the last season of Angel!!! NOOOOO!!! In fact, even if SMG leaves, I say continue with Buffy!!! Make it the Spike Show!!!

I have a love for all dogs that is solid and true. I also enjoy snow, although my experience with bitter cold is not that extensive (Southern and all).

I was getting used to a world without Buffy - but if that world also means no more Angel...I want no part in that, thank you very much.

And I strongly believe you should keep your experience with bitter cold to a bare minimum. I hope that you never ever have to experience your eyelashes freezing. That is something everyone should go without.

You are still welcome, though. And I do not want to exist in a world that has neither Buffy nor Angel in it.

Come here. I'll hold you, and then we can pray to who ever will listen, and sacrifice chickens or goats if we have to.

It can't be the end. I won't let it.

The Sisabet Mourning Tour 2003: Damn the Mother-#%&^ing Bastards! Sisbet doomed to wander in the wilderness until the networks make a commitment to replacing long-term, high-quality programming with other long-term, high-quality programming. I imagine you'll be wandering forever, so you're bound to get to Ohio sometime, where you should visit me, please.

I adore this idea and must blog about it. Well, soon. Tired now. I'd never make it in a peripatetic existence - not nearly enough napping.

I like Ohio though.

Don't forget Firefly

Very brutal year to be a sci-fi fan. Buffy's ending, Farscape and Firefly cancelled, Angel's getting mistreated, and Enterprise is aspiring to be as mediocre as Voyager. Which is a trajedy because it has so much promise...

With Buffy and Firefly gone, maybe UPN would be willing to give us...

Joss Whedon's
Enterprise

Would that not kick ass? Next Generation sucked its first two seasons before they changed the direction of the show. It's not too late to save Enterprise...

At least I have Survivor and the Jack Bauer Power Hour to keep me warm at night.

Also, how much would I love Joss Whedon's Enterprise? Well a whole damn lot, that is how much.

Sisabet, I refuse to allow you to be depressed about this! Think of this--you can get all the Highlanders on DVD, but only watch one episode a week, pretending it's a new show. Besides, something else WILL come along. I once believed that there would never again be anything on TV as good as the first season of Remington Steele. (Shut. Up.)

Besides, if you don't cheer up, I'll do something evil like giving the Spirit of Fairytale Endings your address. His presence WILL drive you from home, and you'll have to come stay in my guest room, which is currently occupied by 2,000 books and the vacuum cleaner.

Miss M.

That was totally Dawn's idea as well, Miss M - watch one episode of Highlander a week. Truth be told I do not have that kind of self-control. It is all I can do to make it week to week unspoiled.

Please don't tell the Spirit where I live - Dawn just cleaned and the apartment is finally all clean and livable. Also - me in a room surrounded by 2000 books - I used to have dreams like that...
