Apparently I am not the only person who suffers from performance anxiety at the eye doctor's. It seems most of this stems from the fact that I really have no idea why the optometrist is doing what it is that she does. It seems very mysterious and arbitrary and of course I am sweating about giving the wrong answer - I don't understand what it is they are looking for, so how can I make an informed choice?
qafhappy then sweeps in and makes it all better in the comments of my last post. She explains things and really, it is just fascinating.

I feel much better about the whole deal.
I now wish I had made certain I had a Clark-In-Glasses icon cause this would be the perfect post for it. That was my big disappointment last week, you know. No glasses. They give and then they take. Why can't we have kryptonite retinal damage every week??

I can't see the Big E - you know the one they shine on the wall. I have no earthly idea where it is unless they tell me.

Date: 2004-02-03 01:43 pm (UTC)I participated in this Bausch & Lomb eye-expo thing we had at the Borders Book store where I used to be a manager- & talked to an opthamologist there about laser surgery- which the concept of actually frightens me to my deepest bones- and in looking at my prescription- he actually said I was not a good candidate at this time because my eyes are so bad- should wait 5 or so years until more is known about after effects on higher prescriptions.
And Smallville- so overdue for shirtless Clark.
