MY Vividcon DVD is here!!! This almost makes up for Dawn being in Toronto and me not being there right now. To make up for me being alone - ya'll are gonna watch the disc with me.

And as I settle in with a glass of shiraz, I just want it known that [livejournal.com profile] heres_luck is my friend. Yep. Ya'll heard me. She is my friend. I knew her before "Superstar." Yep.

And how freaking in awe am I still of "Superstar?" Um, a lot (sorry, already had one glas and counting, hee).

And how did Laura and Morgan make "Wonder of Birds" fly? I need to figure it out. There is the wolf running in the city and then he is loping into the snow in Canada(?? - I know there are 2 Rays and a Mountie - that is the extent of my Due South understanding). I think I need to understand how movement is used in this vid as well.

And Wendy is the perfect person to make "Sleepwalker" and she has totally captured what I love about Xander. I love this so much. I love how honestly Wendy vids and I think she works so well with the type of character Xander is. If she could be recruited into Smallville, I can practically guarantee incredibly sweet, poignant Clark vids. Heheh - too bad QaF US got her instead. Ahhh. Justin in this woman's hands will be a wonderful thing instead. Maybe next hiatus we can sell her on Smallville. She still has school though. Right? Wendy, are you graduating any time soon?

"Haunted" still gives me cold chills and I've been watching it countless times since VVC. It's that double whammy of "I will always miss you" and "One look at the ghost" - just guts me. Valuable lesson to be learned about using the money shot effectively (as Lum and Laura pointed out in the review panel). I'm all studying and moved and Seah and Margie are making me want to watch Odyssey 5 and Invisible Man, but that is for another post.

"Darkness, Darkness" gives me chills in my living room. It did at the Premiere Show and its chill inducing factor is still present. This vid hits all of my chords. I love a dark look at religion, faith, hope and hopelessness. Remind me to send pages of feedback to Jo and Gwyneth.

Ohh - "Happy Together" is on now. I just love Jackie and Owen. Sniff. I think I may be getting drunk. Oh well. How fucking cute are those guys?? Real Fucking cute, that is how cute they are. And they are happy together.

"Where In the World Is Carmen Sandiego?"!!!! I LOVE THIS VID, MAN!! I love you guys. Killa and Melina are responsible for me now wanting the imaginary Highlander vid that lives in my head to be a Duncan/Methos/Amanda vid. I should probably watch past season one before I really plan this thing out. Amanda is cool. I dig her.

I'm almost drunk now. This is fun.

What's next??

Oh Shit. I hate you Zen. I really don't, I'm really impressed by you, but I don't know if I can watch this right now. "1916" almost made me do something I hate which is cry in public. I am maintaining now that I never actually cried cause I didn't make any choking sobbing noises and I have allergies. I highly respect this vid, but I'm kinda looking away right now cause I was all happy. Damn. This song. I might as well watch it. Fuck. This is really good in that damn you can't escape the shitty pain of life and we send babies to war kinda way. She really did a great job with this vid. I need to watch T. Jonesy's "Perfect Way" again. Some Marx Brothers from that overvidded fandom would be good.

Well Fuck. This is just like at the Premiere Show - I am too freaked out over "1916" to pay any attention to "Strange Things" - and I love Harvey. Hell. I need a minute. You know how some people can't watch Shalott's Clarice/Lector vid "Uninvited"? I think that is me and "1916" 'cept I am a big ole emotional mashochist and will probably get real good and drunk eventually and put that fucker on repeat. Someone should probably stop me . And remind me to go back and watch Ann's "Strange Things" cause of the Farscape love and all and it looks damned cool. 'Kay.

Next Vid.

Well fuck me with something you shouldn't fuck me with. "Fragile." Well that is great. Just great. I'm home alone. Drinking. Watching vids. My sister gets to go to Toronto and be schmoozed by drug companies and probably has met the entire cast of Queer as Folk by now and I'm stuck here at home. Drinking. And now I think I'll cry. Damn Myrtle and Eunice. Ya'll suck. You take pleasure in my great pain - dontcha? God. Jenny. Buffy. Willow, oh god Willow.

Oh, "Uninvited" - speak of the devil and Shalott's vid gets played. That was just perfect. I need that vid right now. Scared and creeped are preferable emotions for me. Excuse me - I'm gonna go watch that one again.

"Get Over Yourself" - someone tell me about Witchblade. I need to watch this vid sometime when I'm not drunk. Ian. I need some backstory. I just want and want and want and want, don't I? Looks like the tech problems are fixed - Whee!!

"Evil Angel" - oh now I'm giddy. I love watching this vid on my TV. Now with the DVD - it is like watching it in real time or something. Like you find a movie you have taped on cable and hafta watch it anyway? Only more so. "On this town square" - yep. Still kills me. Same as when she repeats that external camera movement with Dru later. "Coat of Arms" -check, I start to really feel for Darla there. All emotional reactions remain strong. Possibly I am not as drunk as I think. I can still type. Oh GOD. This vid is typical Lum in the relentless build. Angel! You Bastard! I need a break. On the plus side I appear to have recovered from "1916"

Sidwick the Wonder-Dog-Faced-Boy needs to be walked. It is like kismet. Or something.

Oooh, shiraz. Niiiice.

I'm still clearing up some odds and ends of the Desiree mess, and then I'll be settling in with a cold bottle of Kirin Ichiban and my DVDs. Mmmmm, VividCon...

God, why is everyone getting their dvds and I haven't gotten mine yet?

*sob*

In case you were interested, [livejournal.com profile] crack_van had an overview of Witchblade (http://www.livejournal.com/community/crack_van/85326.html) recently. The pics don't show up but the info is good. Ian Nottingham is beyond morally ambiguous. He's creepy and sexy and he just needs a big snuggle, I swear. Just be careful he doesn't snap your neck when you try it.

*happy sigh*...just got mine this afternoon. It's all so wonderful.

Damn Myrtle and Eunice. Ya'll suck. You take pleasure in my great pain - dontcha?

I always say the day is not complete until I've made sisabet writhe in agony...it's on my To Do list even.

"1916" almost made me do something I hate which is cry in public. I am maintaining now that I never actually cried cause I didn't make any choking sobbing noises and I have allergies.

Those allergies must be going around. I had to stop and go outside and smoke many cigarettes while sobbing like a little bitch. Owie!!!

Oh, and why aren't you on AIM? Kinda hard to stalk properly if I can't find you.

I'm not a vidder, but I've become hopelessly addicted to watching them, so I bought a copy of the DVDs. I just spent a couple hours happily watching vids "on the big screen". (Then I spent about $10 over at iTunes buying songs!)

I wanted to tell you that "Cowboy" and "Without Me" are two of my favorite vids. Both songs just fit the characters so perfectly! I ended up watching "Cowboy" twice just because I love the song and the vid is so much fun to watch.

Do you know what you're doing to me? Making me want to learn to vid! AIGH!

Or maybe... maybe I can just be a connoisseur of vids. Yeah. That's it. Then I don't have to replacemywholecomputer to feed my addiction.

You should vid. It is fun, exciting and - well it actually provides no income whatsoever. But the fun and exciting part it gives in oodles.

More Reaper Boy every day, I promise :D

*toes* I would need... more space, I know. More RAM. Probably a better processor and definitely a correctly-functioning video card... argh. Is the good vidding software compatible with Win98?

YES! YES!

Well, re: due South, and echoing [livejournal.com profile] _green_ above, there is an overview (http://www.livejournal.com/community/crack_van/81668.html) at Crack Van, penned by moi; but furthermore, there are tapes and DVDs that I would be *more* than happy to lend you.

And also, re: I love a dark look at religion, faith, hope and hopelessness -- did you ever watch Millennium? Because that's just what that show was, and damn, it was good at its best (although because it was a Chris Carter show it also got fucked up beyond belief before it died). And there should absolutely be some Millennium vids out there. I'm just saying.

Also? You are cute. *g*

I almost wish I had the tapes because there is this Clint Eastwood version of "Accentuate the Positive" that would be perfect.

But my to do list is long, long, long.

Must go vid now.

Thanks! I was actually one of the few people that stuck it out for all of Millennium and I agree - there should be vids. I also think the series should be on DVD. I've started and stopped in my quest for Millennium source, but uf I ever get hit with a vid idea, I'm certain I'll figure out a way to get it. And there should be Millennium vids - you are so right.

I'm happy to chat with you anytime about the movement in "Wonder of Birds," but you might do even better to talk to [livejournal.com profile] morgandawn, since she was the movement/timing nazi the vid desperately needed.

Anyway, drop me a line and we can exchange AIM names.

Awesome, thank you so much -- I think I am figuring some things out - It helps to sit up really close to the screen and raise your hand and follow the movement - at least it helps me notice the directional trends.

Thanks

I love how honestly Wendy vids [...] If she could be recruited into Smallville [...]

Heh.. thank you. I've always been mildly interesting in Smallville, but I just haven't gotten to it yet. I can only (barely) handle one tv show obsession at a time.

Wendy, are you graduating any time soon?

May 2005. I still have over a year and a half to go. I think I'm going to have a little more free time from now on, though... this week was sort of the climactic point of the semester. (Which is why it took me 3 days to reply to this.) This weekend is still a little busy, but I *will vid*. (I was clipping tonight, and I'm almost done! There's no stopping me now!)
