Cutting for Smallville and Angel and hell if I can even bother with titles anymore

Smallville:

Okay, I grew up on a farm. Bo Duke - destroying your tractor is a big fucking deal. Those are very expensive machines. You don't just total a tractor like you do a truck, every fucking week. Or at least it seems every episode of Smallville that I have ever seen, feature the Kent family truck becoming a total loss. I only hope they carry full coverage, although considering they have a teenage son, I would not want to see the Kent's auto insurance premium. Hell - they had to have been cancelled at least 3 times in the past year for frequency of claims alone. But that is beside the point. A truck is not the same as a tractor. You keep tractors forever. If Bo is just waving off the loss of one, no big deal, well no fucking wonder the Kent's are losing their farm every fucking week.

Sorry. That tractor bullshit bugged me.

Lana also bugged me. She is trying to put the meteor shower behind her? Wha-huh? Since when? I know that I have not seen every episode aired. I missed most of season 2 and I'm only 3/4 through season one. I'm already sick of hearing about her frickin' parents. I get it, Lana. You are an orphan. Okay. Hearing you loud and clear. Now get a new hook, cause that one got old and you've squandered any good will I might have had for you. Seriously, is this a popular character? Does anyone even like her at all?

Lex in therapy. I want transcripts of the sessions. I also liked Lex in crazy!protect mode. That was...well, it was hot. When he yelled at White to stay away from his "friends" Dawn wanted to know who else was his friend besides Clark. We figured he meant his imaginary buddy Lewis from the island. I love insano!Lex and not only because he had pretend malaria. Well, the pretend malaria really helps. I feel a connection. It is very special. I need a moment.

Perry White is walking in Memphis!! Shout out! Okay, maybe not. Shut up. I refrained from all sorts of Squiggy jokes tonight and I so could have gone there.

I think Clark kept his clothes on for the complete episode. He was still sweet. I must be growing as a person.

Angel:

Oh My God. They Shot Lorney-tunes!

I have no idea where to start. Okay - let's try here: my boy is so very fucking sweet even as he is losing his grip. There is innate goodness in Angel, there is, there is. He just doesn't know it.

I'm sorry, I was just really moved by the last scene and his tenderness with Lorne. Although, I was kinda getting nervous with the way Lorne was muttering in his sleep and Angel was hovering. I was afraid that Lorne would mutter "Connor" in some kind of mystical dream convergence and Angel would kill him right then and there. Didn't happen, but I was still on edge.

I loved Harmony dancing by herself - she looked beautiful. Also - did Lorne tell her to dance earlier in the ep? I was distracted by the dog during their exchange.

Angel can have all the meaningless sex he wants and I am a-o-kay with that - seriously, but I think he had more chemistry with Cordelia than with Eve, which is just...sad. But, if that had been Lilah... damn, that would have been hot. Still, I'm glad he got off. It will help relax him.

Oh -yeah - Angel's Shower is Brian Kinney's Shower! I feel victorious in this. Almost like I helped willed the shower into being with my thoughts alone...Hot sex with Wes in the shower, Hot sex with Wes in the shower, Hot sex with Wes in the shower... Poor Angel. In there all alone. Thinking thoughts. Alone. It just ain't right.

Speaking of ain't right: Wes, your dealio with Fred is creepy. Stop it. (I think he heard me this time. Oh, and Knox is very, very evil but I can't say that I blame Fred. Wes is all sorts of creepy around her while Knox is nerdily charming).

Gunn marking his territory was just embarrassing. Although, I am 12 and I laughed like an idiot. It was still embarrassing. I did love Gunn's initial reaction upon learning Lorne had his sleep removed. Of course it is the bestest thing ever! Why W&H are the bee's knees. They should have gone to work for them years ago. Everyone is so seriously fucked right now, and I love how the show is still dancing around that topic.

I liked Spike this episode. We both are interested in Angel getting laid. I feel a kinship. Plus, he stuck around to watch. As did Lorne. That's my perverts! I love those guys.

I'm gonna let everyone else pick this one apart. I'm sleepy. Pretty Angel naked. I'm happy. Night.

Is that the one where the old guy possesses Angel's body and taunts Lilah about how she wants "him"? And Lilah ATTACKS Angel all over his desk? I can't think of episode names right now, forgive me. But yeah. I would give money for some Lilah/Angel. That's seriously hot.

And I, too, was totally pleased by the concern and caring we saw in Angel this ep.

You are thinking of Carpe Noctem. That Vision Thing features Angel throttling Lilah and getting all up in her face. Of course - she turns the tables and then he turns the tables back. It is all very glowery and dark and really, really hot.

whether we would get to *SEE* Angel fresh from the shower he proclaimed to need- & then lo & behold- Angel - wet & nekkid. *sigh* I too felt powerful. & All that Angel bare flesh make up for Clark not ripping his shirt off or getting nekkid himself tonight. :-)

I may truly be the Only person who not only doesn't mind- but sorta likes Eve. Still very much hunger for Lilah to show up. But Eve?- kinda like her. & Liked that she provided stress relief for Angel tonight & got him nekkid. & liked her comment at the end that it wasn't the first time she'd had sex while under the influence of a mystical convergence or whatever it was she said.

& Knox??- yep, Evil. But good hair. & I like him with Fred. & he just pleases me with the fond memories he arouses of Conversations with Dead People.

& I'm very happy about all the Lorne tonight- & the singing & the cute sleeping & murmuring at the end. :-)

I don't usually watch SV, but I am impressed that we are currently experiencing intense solar flares in RL ('tho I doubt the writers planned it that way).

Not a Smallville watcher, but your review of the episode makes the tractor thing bother me. Also grew up on a farm. That's just not right.

Yes! Thank you. Bi Duke should have been devastated. Losing that tractor should have made him sick. He should've gone back to the house, started drinkin' Mylanta from the bottle and sat down and thought about how much his granddaddy paid for that tractor and how there is no way he can justify the expense right now or even a few years from now. I want Clark to be hovering and I want Bo Duke to say, "I guess we just can't have nice things."

Me too! I really expected him to murmur either Connor or Cordelia. I also half expected Fred to find a vial/tube/whatever in that psyche lab that had one of their names on it -- and it would contain their missing memories. Maybe that'll happen in a future ep.

I'm with you 110% on the Smallville review, especially that part about the tractor and therapy Lex. And did you love the backlighting when he entered the bar? It's like they were trying to light him as god or something. Mmmmrowr.

Also loved Harmony and the Brian Kinney shower. I haven't watched QaF in almost two years, and I still remember that sweet, sweet shower.

Hot sex with Wes in the shower, Hot sex with Wes in the shower, Hot sex with Wes in the shower...

Two brains beaming this in are better than one.

Hot sex with Wes in the shower, Hot sex with Wes in the shower, Hot sex with Wes in the shower...

It's my new mantra. :-)

But we love Thlana!

Undercover Brother here, with a friendly suggestion. I realize these shows are on back-to-back, but maybe you should separate your discussions of Smallville and Angel. The LJ mob mentality keeps the thread focused on the wrong show.

I'm on the hetero side of the sexual spectrum, but even I acknowledge that Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum are far better looking than wrinkly ol' James Marsters and David Boreanaz. Surely most of you realize that Clex is the best stuff not on Showtime.

Okay, I hear your argument: Smallville is lacking in gay pants. Understood, but the cameras spend too much time on the upper (bare) torsos to worry about bulges down below. Um, anyway...

There's a fun thread on Television Without Pity about Great Lines You'll Never Hear on Smallville. There's a recurring theme about how self-centered Thlana can be. The most basic:

Lana: Let's talk about you.

You had goodwill toward Thlana? Truthseekersara and I have tolerated her for only so long, mostly because her lisp is funny and we like it when the sparks fly with Tina or Chloe. But this season she seems to have lost the speech impediment and isn't as much of a damsel in distress. Giving Thlana a spine is important, but only shows her shortcomings in trying to carry her weight in this show.

But we're in the minority. People love Thlana.

Yes! Thank you. Bi Duke should have been devastated.

Really? I never thought of Jonathan Kent as swingin' both ways. Excellent typo.

P.S. I'm not sure I appreciate Pete referring to himself as an UB.
