Strange Moments

sisabetOkay...LJ looks completely wrong tonight. I shall not panic. I will just go to bed and tomorrow it will be back to normal. Right?
Weirdness abounds. Did you know that Randy Harrison (Justin on QaF US) has a tattoo? I don't know what it is - it's located somewhere on his left upper arm - but I saw the outline while vidding and now I am disturbed. It is obviously covered up with body make-up, but now I can't stop looking at it - it's visible (if faint) in a lot of scenes. This should not bug me. I should not obsess about the invisible tattoo. Instead I will obsess about something else. The hidden subtext in Freddy v. Jason? Or perhaps weekend plans? Real life is complicated and uninspiring right now. Tomorrow is Friday, right? If I buy the season 2 Angel DVDs tomorrow, I could recut "Last Stand" with DVD source. I should obsess about that, right? Angel and Lindsey and shirtless goodness with the lack of tattoos unless drawn there by the makeup artist as God intended. Wait...is there shirtlessness in "Last Stand"? I don't think so...a situation that must be corrected in the remastering process.

I can't believe they hired a guy with a freakin' tattoo to play a part where he'd be at least partially naked 75% of the time. Or in hoodies. huh.
One of things I strangely obsess about -- how Justin gets more and more clothed as the seasons wear on. It's like, "tight! spandex! naked!" and then, "soft sweaters and DOESN'T HE LOOK VULNERABLE" and then, "three shirts and a jacket, plus purse!"

Date: 2003-09-05 07:58 am (UTC)A few weeks ago I remember watching the shower scene in 2x08 and thinking that there was something wrong with Randy's arm - it appeared the wet skin area was just not consistent, texturally. So I'm vidding Epic and there was a bedroom scene I pulled into Premiere - I didn't go with it b/c the blue lights just clashed with the overall color palette of the vid, but I still like to pull random sex scenes up while vidding - for um...research. And I saw it then - the shadow. I cannot for the life of me figure out what exact scene it was - season 1 or 2 for sure. I was highly upset and then began pulling all my naked!Justin scenes and hell, yeah. He has a tattoo. Which disturbs me and it is strange it disturbs me because - well Randy, for one, is Randy and not Justin and for another thing he is actually 25 and not a teenager and if he wants a tattoo he should bloody (what the hell am I saying "bloody" for - I'm not English. I live in Kentucky for goodness sakes. I blame Spike fic) well have one. But I guess it is a reminder that Justin is not really real and that bothers me. Also, I highly like Randy's body and skin tone and the thought of a tattoo is almost like a blemish on that particular body. It is not needed. There should be no marring. On some bodies a tat is great - on this one - no. Of course, it is solely a personal thing and if Randy likes his tat, fine and dandy. But I mourn. Which is insane.

Yes! Justin has become progressively more clothed as the years have progressed. Dawn is convinced he has grown as well, to which I keep reminding her that the actor that plays him is not a teenager. Sheesh. But he is bigger through the chest season 3 than season 1 and I for one like that. It's like he is going from skinny adolescence to bulky manhood and I do enjoy watching that onscreen. It offers a physical reality to the world (except for the freaking tattoo!) and I appreciate physical realities, especially since my other fandom features a 40 plus year old actor playing a killed in early 20's vampire. I can only suspend disbelief so far.

Normally, I love to vid some fight scenes, but what do you do with a guy like Brian? He gets mad and he pops balloons. But this Justin vid? Kid is in a different fight every other episode season one. I'm surprised he doesn't go on patrol...oh wait. He does season 3. Justin Taylor is Buffy Summers!
