There is a version of "Luckenbach, Texas" sung by Kenny Chesney and Kid Rock, that is now available on a Waylon tribute album.

I think I just need more coffee.

Oh! Speaking of...when I woke up this morning Dawn had made coffee and muffins and I closed my eyes and pretended I was at Vividcon. Sadly, no one yelled, "Penis!" so I knew I was still at home. Although, now that I think about it, I was the person yelling penis, so I suppose I do have it in my power to recreate that experience at home...but it just is not the same.

Dawn is totally into the dough/sauce slash from my last post. She wants me to write where the dough and the sauce have fallen madly in love, but the dough still holds back from the sauce a bit, and one day the sauce comes home and finds the dough covered in refried beans. The sauce just stands there and watches and the camera then pans to the avocados falling to the floor. Later on, the sauce is not mad about the refried beans. The sauce tells the dough that it knows what the dough is all about and does not want the dough to change - but the sauce wants to know why it is here? Is it because the can fell off the counter and is dented? And the dough can't answer and the sauce leaves. The dough actually has to be refridgerated for a while, cause all of the emotion is difficult for it to process, but after a long talk with some jumbo martini olives, it seeks the sauce out. It finds the sauce in the pantry making time with some linguine. It tells the linguine to fuck off and then tells the sauce that yes, the sauce is with the dough because of the fall off the counter and the denting. But that is not why the dough wants the sauce to stay. The dough warns the sauce that this doesn't change anything, they are still just ingredients and the dough is still gonna do exactly what the dough wants to do, seeing other sauces, sometimes refried beans, sometimes just cheese, but it also includes coming home to the sauce.

I think I'm getting choked up here.

Aside from the hysterical laughter that has probably woke up my neighbors, is that I will probably never watch QAF again without thinking of dough and sauce. Thanks Sisabet, rotfl, cause now I also have that song in my head...Kid Rock and Kenny Chesney singing it? Really? Wow...that.is.tempting.

I think Luckenbach Texas is all about season 3 Brian.

Or Batman.

One or the other.

Maybe Wolverine...or Wesley...or Wolverine and Wesley...

Wait. I was going to stop with the random exploitation of naked men...

I can see that...you should do the vid...

Kid Rock and Kenny's version for season 3 brian... *swoon*

Wolverine and Wesley slash? Wolvie on the bike...wes on his bike...on a bike together perhaps...bent over a bike...

Right. We have to stop. I mean that would be like picturing Spike going to the Babylon for a drink...

Spike..Brian..Justin...

I think it's all about Balloon and his true love, Pinata. Pinata, weighed down by all that papier mache, was heavier than Balloon and wasn't getting sucked into the fan.

She watched in silent horror as her true love took the beating she knew was meant for her.

We should not be picturing these things - Spike is a person too. Well not so much a person as a vampire and not so much with the really existing part, but he is played by James Marsters, who is a real person and this is just wrong.

I wish Gale Harold was a robot. I don't think robots mind slash.

Gale Robot?? You think they have those on ebay?

I could check...course now I have this image of Spike being all I'm over the Buffy bot thing so he goes and gets himself a Gale Bot...and the Gale Bot says things like "You're to good for Buffy. Angel has stupid hair and couldn't get laid in the backroom at the Babylon."

Gale Bots...Would it be wrong to want slash Spike..the vampire...but is he a vampire anymore? Ohhh think Spike could share his bling bling with the Gale bot..that would be a true sign of his undying love for the Gale Bot.

Wrong? How could something so beautiful be so wrong?

Robots: not just for plot devices anymore

Date: 2003-08-20 07:11 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] sisabet.livejournal.com
Okay - well first of all: Angel would totally rule in the back room. Just saying.

See - this only works as Not Exploitation if Gale (the original) is actually a robot. Otherwise the robot would be exploiting Gale's image and that would be wrong.

Now if Spike was actually a gay vampire robot, all of our lives would be so much easier. But since he is not I will drop it.

But I still wonder/hope that maybe Gale is a Mandroid.

Nah, if you're gonna go for Kid Rock country covers, you should go for his version of "A Country Boy Can Survive". Best.Country.Cover.Eva.

Heh. I'm not sure, but I bet it would make a kick ass companion to Cowboy.

But this is why I don't make vids. One song that I always go, "Damn why can't I make vids" to is Master of Puppets by Metallica. Thing is, the song is like, 8 freaking minutes long.... you'd have to use a lot of filler, or have a really epic story to tell.

*sigh*

But what about the avocados? And the refried beans? I feel so bad for them! I think I must go chronicle the adventures of the avocados and the refried beans. See, the refried beans are really broken up over their callous abandonment by the dough. The white cheese tries to tell them this is what comes of dating outside your food group (possibly it breaks into an impromptu chorus of "Stick to your own kind, stick to your own kind" from West Side Story), but the refried beans call the cheese a bigot and storm off on a huff. They run into an avocado -- pretty enough, a nice shiny green, but a little banged up.

"You!" cries the avocado. "You're the bastards who kicked me off the table."

The beans apologize. There was this really hot dough. It was rising like a souffle. The beans thought it was love.

The avocado is not mollified. It starts whaling on the beans like mad. The avocado and beans stuggle, getting all mushy and greasy and ... suddenly, they're overcome by their passion! They don't hate each other--they want to fuck each other! They should have known all along! They have such mad passionate sex that when they slam into the table leg, it cracks and the table falls down on them. The beans and the avocado continue to screw as the sawdust showers over them and strangely triumphant music plays.

First the merchandising possibilities, then the spin-off. It could work.

I'm so glad the Jumbo Martini Olives were there to talk to the dough- before the sauce got away!
But don't skip over how the Sauce fell off the counter! Was it the anchovies- who callously & with a bigoted heart pushed the sauce off the counter while the dough was helplessly watching? Does the sauce know how the dough watched the sauce recover from it's fall & got back up on the counter?

*sniff* I'm still choked up from reading this. & am now off to buy some sauce (organic in a can) & fresh dough- so I might... well, give them the care & love & heat they so richly deserve. I'll watch over them, observe how the sauce bubbles over the dough and the dough reciprocates with browning & it's own risen pockets of heat... yes, that's what I'll do. I'll just watch & protect them...
From: [identity profile] sisabet.livejournal.com
Yeah - I really shouldn't have skipped where the dough shows up at Prom. Maybe there should be a flashback?

Ohh- Yes! There can be flashbacks!

Rotfl..cause I know you and Sisabet would be wise to check your journal tomorrow cause I guarantee somehow, you dream about Sauce and Dough tonight. I freaking feel the dream coming bwahaha. The dough watching over the sauce..thanks seriously, cause I need to laugh when I watch the Prom scene..so people think I'm a horrid person who thinks the bashing is funny. Like I can explain..no, see there was this story about sauce and Dough....

*sniff* It's okay...people already say I'm evil. It's the whole supposed to have been born on Halloween but came a couple of days early.

See- & I was *supposed* to be born on Christmas-

that's why I'm good.
Yes- given my odd dreams last night (haven't posted yet- rather disturbing- featuring a staircase leading to no where- mirrors-my mom & restaurants)- I can feel the oncoming Pizza dreams- the fresh herbs & tomatoes eager to become part of sauce, the hands kneading dough- eager to get it to the right consistency- pliable- yet able to rise & fall, rise & fall- all in preparation for sauce. & then... the brick oven with the blazing flame- the heat, the steam, the sweat on my brown as I watch sauce & dough succomb to the ... heat. *sigh* Is it bedtime yet?

damn...

Okay, I feel better then. I'm trying to be good and avoid spoilers for this show. You told me not to watch Beer For My Horses yet, and I haven't... in fact, Saturday night it started playing on the TV in the room I was in, and I ran away to the hall until it was over. I have seen the very first clip, but that's from the first episode, so it's ok. Also, when I was looking at that SVCD of your vids, I found BFMH, but I didn't watch it. This is taking an enormous amount of self-control, you know. :)

By the way -- thanks again for burning all of that for me! I watched the rest of the "Get Some Lovin'" vid, and.. wow. The end is *so* cute. I want to see them kiss like that some more! Too bad I'm still stuck in season 1. Thankfully my situation will change in about 10 days, and then it's all Prom Dancing and That Scene With The White Sheets.

"That Scene With The White Sheets."

This cracks me up because your basis and knowledge of the pairing is mainly based on vids. Love it. Like me with Highlander . Oh - Got a vid rec for ya too - it contains pretty much all of season one and a teeny tiny bit of season 2. You want now -or should I wait?

I am seriously in love with this entry. The usual procedure in this sort of case is to propose/beg for marriage with the author of the art, but since we're embracing anthropomorphism in this post I suppose I better go for the directer route.
