I went to the dentist today. I went last week (twice) and I have to go back next Wed. and then one more treatment. I'm fairly crabby right now. My jaw aches from the shots. I don't mind shots - I never have - but there is something really dread inducing about oral shots. Ughh. Sorry - I'll change the subject.
I read
valereix (nifty LJ FAQ - hee) post about grocery shopping (and laundry) before my dental appointment (just can't seem to get away from that topic *shudder*) and I decided that I too would go to the store and cook for my family. This needing to go to the market thing is actually becoming kinda serious. We are out of diet soda, coffee, and milk. Our supplies of bread and cereal were depleted a week ago. We have like 2 rolls of TP left in the house and a teenage boy. Said boy and I both started eyeing the last box of saltines last night. I swear the stand off music from "The Good the Bad and The Ugly" played. This current lack of food is not Dawn's fault - I am the one who is supposed to go to the store. Dawn is useless at a grocery store. She's like Buffy in "Super Food World" - she just stands in front of the cheese and cries. But I felt really bad this afternoon/evening so I cooked KFC (Mmmm...instant potatoes and gravy...mushy) and laid down in front of the TV. I think my napping was aided by the X-Files playing in the background. "Dod Kalm" and "Quagmire" ahhh...sweet dreams. I feel rather guilty about watching the eps (sleeping through - same dif) because I vowed to not watch the Sci Fi Channel after they canceled "Farscape." Also - I do have those episodes on tape. There is just something about real time y'know? "The Post-Modern Prometheus" then came on and I woke up enough to check out what Dawn has been up to today. (I also made her watch the last scene of PMP - where Mulder gets up and does that cool-like-Elvis hand down thing to Scully move that makes me squeal. It's not the first time that I've made her watch this scene - I've been doing this for years. Typically Mulder stands up from the table, does his move and I giggle and clap and Dawn looks at me and shakes her head. And tonight I said "What if Spike did that?" and she totally got it. Hee. Insanity is best when it is shared - end of the longest aside in history).
So what has Dawn been up to today? Waayy to much free-time it appears They Might Be Giants Suck Ass Club. Ironically, I don't think she has anything against TMBG. She was just bored and
beamer242 gave her something to do. I was taking up for the band at first - I really liked them when I was in high school - so I played some of their old music. Man, that gets annoying after a while...
I'll post my thoughts on Buffy when I figure out what the hell they are. Initial thought: I love Xander (nothing new there).

Especially since they're still re-airing Babylon 5 and Crusade - which I have all on tape also, but, as you say. Just something about watching them on-air.
