On the menu for my mid-meal consumption today: BBQ Fritos, M&Ms and Diet Mt Dew. And I wonder sometimes why I don't feel so great...

The office is quieting down now, it got a bit hectic, but I shouldn't complain. The tower I worked at in Memphis was hit hard by a storm this week - windows on the 10th and 12th floors were blown out. My old floor is fine, but the building is without power or electricity, as was much of the city according to J. yesterday. He was headed out of town to the relative comfort of his daddy's trailer in Alabama. So by moving, I missed the storm - but since my office is closed I also missed out on time off. See, the Lord gives and then he takes...

Speaking of time off: The Plan and my attendence is looking fairly grim indeed. I'm The New Girl.

"Hi, nice to meet you. I'm The New Girl. Pay no attention to the fact that I have been with the company years longer than you have. I am New Girl. Seniority ain't nuthin but a number, yo."

This means that vacation schedules were set in place months before my arrival and I am already taking off next month for VVC - why I gotta upset the apple cart right now? Especially at the end of the month when you know your monthly numbers aren't up to par just yet. Newsflash. They won't be. I started with a big ole 0 and to have my numbers reflect par means I have to close everything this month. Ain't gonna happen, never has happened and no big deal..but still...

Dad is about the same. Insurance companies suck and I'm about to get down and dirty with Blue Cross/Blue Shield if anyone wants to watch. Should be entertaining...

Oh - to end this post on a lighter and happier note: I will answer my own question. When does Brian first call Justin "Sunshine"?
After exhaustive research I have concluded that Brian first directly refers to Justin as Sunshine in 2x06 "Negotiations and Love Songs" - I thought it would be sooner as well. I could have sworn he did it at least sarcastically in season one. I would have bet something really bettable that he did it during Pride. But no. He says something along the lines of knowing why Debbie calls Justin Sunshine in 2x02 "Take Two" - but doesn't use the nickname until after Zucchini Man. Why? This will require massive investigation and perhaps more research. I heart distractions.

If you too would like to use QaF titles in everyday conversation (and really, why wouldn't you. Things need titles) go here for a complete listing:

Yes he does say that, and that is one of my favoritest Brians as well. And, if you'll recall, Justin is hella pissed at him in that episode. It's really too bad he wasn't there to hear the partner thing, though. I'll bet he never woulda left. *sob*

You know what else is a favoritest moment?

When Prof Dan is in the hospital and Michael loses it and calls Brian and Brian drops everything to go to the hospital and he reminds Michael of how he stayed at the hospital for 3 days with Brian when Justin was bashed and Brian starts to cry a little and he tells Michael how strong he is - that Michael is strong enough for the both of them and it is just so beautiful and then Brian goes home and Justin has a picnic on the floor for them and of course Brian doesn't want to stay at home and have a picnic, he has been at the hospital going thru Big Time Emotional Shit. But Justin doesn't know that and I bet if he did he never would have left...

Oh my god, yes.

I love the fact that he was at the hospital for 3 days- it conjures all sorts of angsty images. I always wonder if he had to deal with Justin's parents at any point, or if Michael did all that, and if he bothered washing the blood off himself, and if he was smelly and hungry, and...and Justin never knew!

I wondered the exact same thing!! Three Days! Three Days of pain and hurt and not knowing and we have no idea what happened...

Did Justin's dad go to the hospital? I'm sure he did during the 3 days, but what about later?

So, there were 3 critical days and 2 weeks of coma... did Brian leave at the end of the 3 days and then started coming back at night...or did he start coming back at night once Justin got moved to the floor... I have all of these questions...

And if Justin knew that Brian was there every night, he might never have left...

There are many many questions. Those three days would make a great fic. Maybe someday I will write that fic. I wish people wrote good stories for this show. If people wrote good stories, Justin might never have left...

I would love to read that fic and then I would love to read the fic where Justin reads the fic and never leaves...

Actually, when viewing season 3 as a whole - Justin leaving ended up being the absolute best thing in the world for his development as an adult ( he moves from always trying to please his father, to always trying to please Brian, to eventually pleasing himself - doing what he believes in) which in turn helps Brian grow up as well.

It also helps me with the full circle thingy (cause I love circles) - Justin moves from always quoting Brian to Brian (and boy-howdy, does Brian like to be quoted) to Brian quoting Justin to Justin. Or something. I'm hungover and at work and really dehydrated.

If I wasn't hungover, Justin might never have left...

Oh, I totally agree. They needed to have that time apart. It helped them both grow up a lot, and appreciate each other a hell of a lot more. Plus it gave us all those lovely angsty moments in the first half of the season. Seeing Brian and the Justin-alike prostitute alone was totally worth the pain of the break up. It was very necessary and good, but it's still ouchie to watch those episodes where they're having all those problems.

(and boy-howdy, does Brian like to be quoted)

Oh my god, does he ever. Another favoritist moment is in 1-20, Let's Hear it for the Boy, when Justin is telling the gang about his post king of babylon trick, and Brian's all freaking out and not wanting to hear about it, and then Justin says the "I told him he'd see me in his dreams" line and Brian looks like he's ready to shoot in his pants or something.

Er, yeah. Maybe if he had, Justin never would have left...
