sisabetHere is the thing: this has been one hell of a year. I mean, I've had years before and I've had years and this year? Has been one hell of itself, for reals and it is just April. So, you know, onward and upward and Space, the final frontier and all that jazz and did I mention that I have a kitten? Cause I TOTALLY HAVE A KITTEN AND HE IS BEAUTIFUL AND SID IS SO VERY VERY SAD!!!
Okay, teeny correction - I don't actually have a kitten (although I told him he was mine and Cappy no longer loved him like I do, when she was at work tonight) but my younger sister who lives with me recently adopted a kitty and he likes me so much more than he likes Cappy. True story. When she adopted him from the shelter, they had named him Barack but I told Cappy that was disrespectful and so he was renamed Nancyboy Barack Obama Tim Gunn Frisky Dingo Sassybaskets Sugarbaker [mylastname], which has a certain ring to it but we mostly call him "Boo-boo Kitty" for short. Did I mention Sid is sad and once he realized the kitten wasn't going anywhere (about the 3rd day in) he started treating him like Sid treats mirrors: acting as if they do not exist and when forced to acknowledge he has a reflection, slinking off to another room. It is almost as adorable as the kitten. I am drowning in cute over here.
You know what else is awesome and rocks and is totally, fantastically, hugely wonderful right now? You think I am gonna seque into the VVC auction here, and normally I would, but first!!!! I CAN STILL VID! You just... you have no idea how messed up I thought I was and I *tried* to vid and I just... couldn't and we are not talking a few months of a dry spell here, no we are talking SINCE WOMEN'S WORK. And I tried and I just couldn't and there exists this really awful and totally bad and unwisely made Dean and Sam vid to the Driveby Trucker's "Goddamn Lonely Love" on my hard drive and there is just no excuse at all for what I was becoming and so I just didn't even try until one day I did and I can still vid! And I can FINISH VIDS (although not that DBT vid, god no - not that), so I am all sorts of relieved and apparently creatively backed up and stuff so I need to get busy with all that...
BUT FIRST! There is a VVC auction and we all know how much I just love that and it ends Thursday night so you still have time to buyme, I mean *yourself* a fabulous vidder!
However, if you find yourself owning a fabulous vidder and do not know what to force, I mean ask them nicely, to make? I am so totes (yeah I said it. Totes), your girl.
Like - if on some wonderful fairy tale plane of existence, I owned Eunice. I mean, first thing I'd do would be to wake up and smile and greet the day with joy and possibly with chirping blue birds helping me dress, it would be that awesome. And I could make her vid anything - I mean I *know* she is all about Dr Who and David Tennant and Torchwood and Jack and this fellow called Ianto - but she's already vidded mpreg. I mean, what else could I possibly want her to do that she has not already done?? Other than "Supernatural" Dreamgirls and she isn't actually offering to vid SPN (but I would trust that in her hands, oh yes, I would - that is the faith I have in Eunice's ability). Eunice is also a committed vidder of hugs and kittens and I am so on board with that. I might make her help me do the Dead German Shepherd vid to the ill-advised song since it makes me cry too hard to see the computer when I try to plot it out. Not a good PMS project, or is it?
Nah - Eunice is too good for that. She made an entire
room of embittered vidders and vid-watchers cry. She deserves kittens and hugs. Hell, the entire world deserves kittens and hugs. Maybe she can make a sequel to "Lullaby" where Neil's suicide turned out to be a pseudicide and he actually just went to medical school and is now dating Gregory House? No? I mean, she could do it - you did see the vid where Jack is all knocked up, didn't you?

If I owned obsessive24? Well, Cappy would probably murder me in my sleep since she has done some of both of our favorite vids (Cappy's was "Change" and mine is "Jesus for the Jugular" and "Piece of Me" - btw - PoM is fucking brilliant and blows my mind 16 different ways) so this would be fun. Also awesome. Also fun and awesome and possibly educational. Wow, she is offering to vid in a bajillion fandoms. That is really cool. I'd probably waste her talented ass on something like a Clark/Lex vid to Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me a River" so someone should save her from me. Also, from Cappy as her taste is really not much better at all (seriously, she is known to cry while listening to the Postal Service's cover of "Against All Odds" all the while going on and on about how "this is sooo Lex").
Hey look! Heidi8 will vid Heroes! AWESOME! I'd love a vid about Mrs. Bennett set to Dolly Parton's cover of "Shine."

whatever - fine. *I* think that is a great vid idea, but you know - I can do better with the ideas. I am just tired. I've been after people to vid Willie Nelson's "Pancho and Lefty" for *years* - I think it would work for SPN (just like I thought it could work for Angel and every other fandom I've been in since, but hey! Great song).
Holy shit, Spacecadet will vid The Mary Tyler Moore show. I just... that would be so flipping awesome, that deserves a moment of silence. Mary Tyler Fucking Moore. My god that would be a wonderful thing to DEMAND TO BE MADE! And you could totally demand it if you won her.
Banbury McBurg prefers to do story vids - which... AWESOME. Remember that one vid where Spike and Buffy were in love and then she found out she was pregnant!! and he was all NOOO! and dumped her ass and Buffy was sad and cried and cried and then one night she went out a-slaying and was all stabbed in the stomach and was all noooooees! and was sad and sadder and then Dawn went and found Spike and he was all drunk and she was all "Hey, you asshole!" and yelled at him and he went back to Buffy and they were all in love again? Except for where Buffy didn't stake Spike when he came back, since he ran out on her pregnant ass and all, I *loved* that vid. Someone should totally have her do something similar, only with Due South. Also, if anyone still has that vid, please let me know. I really miss it.
Aruna7 would totally be my John/Teyla go-to person. Not that I am all John/Teyla except I kind of secretly turned out to be almost John/Teyla in that I don't believe for a MINUTE that Teyla would be dumb enough to hook up with him, but in the way that maybe that one time she was kinda that dumb (cause I have really been there) and something probably happened, and even with all that, they are still BFF. I would love a vid that captured that. Alternatively, it could be a Journey song. I am a real firm believer in Journey songs making KICKASS SGA vids.
