I Am All Out of Sorts...
May. 7th, 2003 12:15 amI fell asleep during "Touched" and just now woke up. The tornado sirens went off and I sat straight up and stared at the clock on the cable box. It said 12:02 and at first I thought the noise was a warning from above that I was really late for work - then I realized that it was just a tornado and I relaxed. Our county just got taken off the warning list - I was never that concerned because Sid-the-Dog-Face-Boy does not appear to take any of this seriously. If he freaks out I will be taking cover...Dawn wants our mother informed that she woke and moved the boy downstairs to an interior room as soon as the sirens went off.
Cut to talk about "Touched"
I was gonna reserve judgement until tonight - how do I actually feel about this ep - considering that I saw it at 3 am yesterday and no opinions of any relevance should be formed at 3am... but I, like Buffy, Spike and Connor, just needed to rest:
So what I remember:
I liked Spike in this episode - I mean - I really liked him. On a level that is new, which is very, very cool.
I identified with Buffy, as my patented response to any major stress in life is a nap.
I don't think Buffy is all in love with Spike, but I do think she cares about him. He is her friend. Maybe she loves him in Jesus? Cept -she is the Jesus-figure on that show, so maybe she loves him in herself? Except, that is pretty much season 6 and that was a relationship disaster. She should do what I do and love Spike in Angel. Just saying...it simples things up.
Willow and her new girlfriend? I don't get it - seems forced and non-relationshippy - what is it about Kennedy that Willow sees? Ugh - maybe Kennedy is now dead - not that it matters since there are only 2 eps left.
Xander: I like the patch - I'm uncomfortable about Xander and I don't know why. I may watch again later to figure out my Xander-issues.
Giles? Please be up to something. You and Dawn. Please.
Faith: Liked the mayor interaction - but the Wood stuff was not as hot as I had my heart set on - maybe I was just tired? At least someone finally got his shirt off. That is one good-looking man. I hated that she did not know "achilles heel." Yes, Faith is not well-educated, but she is not stupid. Pick a less common phrase to set up the difference people!
Ohh - I am bitchy when awakened. I'll stop now. I think I liked the episode - at least one person on my friend's list has identified that red swordy thing. Course Dawn and I have been calling it Buffy's Zord all day - isn't that what the Power Ranger's had - zords? Been a while, I haven't watched since the Boy was small and there was Tommy: the Green Ranger - who was green with evil, until he became the White Ranger and I think he dated the Pink Ranger, and then she moved to NYC to go to college with Felicity. But I remember we had to buy many, many Zords at Toy's R Us.
I missed the preview again. Should I remain unspoiled completely for next week, or go download it?

Yes! Panic napping, I sometimes call it. It's very therapeutic.

Date: 2003-05-07 09:13 am (UTC)Basically, Angel's pivot foot is the foot he plants and turns on as he begins to walk away. From Buffy. From Darla. From me? And yes, I have major issues with that. I think the only way to keep him as your boyfriend is to amputate, in a soft and loving manner, his foot. Just sayin'.

Guess I shouldn't joke seeing one landed about 1/2 mile from me last Sunday but it's either laugh or hide for 2 months in the basement.

this is disgusting. Anytime a show degenerates into mindless sex, it usually indicates the ratings are sliding off a cliff. but i do think buffy is hot so i wouldn't mind being in a sex scene with her. are they taking auditions?
