Today I checked my mail. Today I found a CD mailer from a CD store I've never ordered from. There might have been a moment of concern when I worried that perhaps I had signed up for a CD deal while in a dissociative state and just didn't remember it. Then I realized that I don't really even believe in dissociative disorders working in this way so, no. I didn't.

Then I opened the mailer. Dude.

Then I thanked GOD it was a gorgeous clear day in the 80's and I got into my car, rolled down all the windows that roll down (my car is sooo ghetto) and opened the sunroof.

Then I hit the 30 minutes of open road between me and work - all the while BLASTING my speakers and pumping my fist through the sunroof (like ya do) and singing AT THE TOP OF MY LUNGS:

One day, love will find you
Break those chains that bind you.
One night will remind you
How we touched and went our Separate Ways!

In my head there were helicoptors. In yours too, as I tell this story, I'd wager.

Of course I have to start confronting people after work about this:

[livejournal.com profile] heres_luck: Well, I think we can safely say the Journey isn't my fault.
[livejournal.com profile] heres_luck: or Lum's.
[livejournal.com profile] sisabet: well yes
[livejournal.com profile] sisabet: but someone had to have sent it
[livejournal.com profile] sisabet: Journey doesn't just show up one day
[livejournal.com profile] sisabet: or does it?
[livejournal.com profile] heres_luck: I was going to say
[livejournal.com profile] heres_luck: a lot of '80s radio might make more sense if that sort of thing were true
[livejournal.com profile] renenet: omg, it's like Benji
[livejournal.com profile] sisabet:yes
[livejournal.com profile] sisabet: it is just like Benji

So, just in case the Journey is in fact, NOT just like Benji, and showed up one day cause I am its true, best home - to whomever arranged for the copy of Journey's Greatest Hits to follow me home, thank you. In fact - tell me who you are so I can thank you properly. OR claim anonymous credit. In fact - tell me one minute you would love to see vidded of anything (well that I have - and you know I have JOURNEY) and I can do it. Cause you made my day a lot more fun. Also, John is TOTALLY just a small town girl living in a lonely world, don't you think? And Rodney was SO BORN AND RAISED IN SOUTH DETROIT (it is across the street from Canada. I know these things). Teyla can be the singer in the smokey room. It just goes on and on and on and on!!

*me does happy spazz dance*

Yea but then he took the midnight train going anywhere.

It's been downhill since then.

Come to me with open arms, Sis. I have missed you.

OMG, it does, and the wormhole is the boulevard you go up and down. Unless that's the big front steps. (But do people ever go up the steps outside of the Rising? Always with the down the steps.)

And you having Journey is a wonderful and right thing.

OMG! Journey appeared magically in your mailbox! Dude! That's so cool! I want Journey to appear magically in mine!!!! Followed by Styx, and Alan Parsons, and all the stuff that I still have in VINYL but never got around to spending the money on it again to get digital.

heh - I remember when I did driver's training way back when (we're talking WAAAAY) we drove down Palomares canyon, and the guy pointed out the house that Steve Perry used to live in. It was like a total fangirl moment!

Not only was I seeing helicopters while you were recounting the story, but I was having high-school flashbacks. *g*

*laughs* Too funny. Don't ever argue with free CDs and all the crazy vid ideas they inspire.
