Movies and Other Stuff...
May. 3rd, 2003 10:11 pmSo today I finished things and saw things and thought very deep thoughts about Wolverine and... well pretty much just Wolverine.
So I took the boy and J. to the see X2 today. I was ruined for the movie (okay not really) by the "Matrix:Reloaded" trailer. I could have just watched that on a loop for 2 hours. I'm easy with the trailers though. I like 'em all. That movie with Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett, "Hollywood Homicide" - looks frickin' brilliant in the trailer. "The League of Extraordinary Gentleman" - damn Sean Connery is still kinda got a little something.
So the movie was great, but what I remember most was squealing, "Omigod! That's Methos!" in a crowded and hushed theater (poor J. - I always embarrass him). And then I started freaking out (albeit silently) that Methos is not only an Immortal but also a Mutant. I think maybe the mutant thing could actually explain the Immortal thing. After my mind slowed down to coherant levels I realized that Methos had not suddenly walked into the movie, but rather the actor that plays Methos was appearing in this movie as a totally different character.
This was just like that time Cappy talked me into taking her to see "House On Haunted Hill" and we freaked out when we saw the camera man. Except X2 did not suck ass other than that. And I really should not have let Cappy see that movie when she was just 12. Really a bad call on my part.
I watched 8 Mile tonight and really enjoyed it. I know I have put off watching it cause of ex-boyfriend issues - but I sooo was not the Brittany Murphy character. I was no character in that movie. If I had been in that movie, I would have stuck out like a sore thumb. In fact, in real life, I did stick out, not fit in, and in general just kinda was there. I still have no idea how I was there, but I was there.
Dawn feels that they cut the end scenes completely wrong to "Lose Yourself" - I think she is just feeling post vid let-down. I'm in the post vid funk - where I don't want to start anything new, I don't have that kind of energy. Maybe I should work on the "Lose Yourself" Crichton vid - it is practically finished... Or "Ask DNA" - that has just been gathering dust as well...

Date: 2003-05-03 11:12 pm (UTC)I haven't been watching that much broadcast TV with the Lethal Weapon marathons (other than Dawn's nightly viewing of "The Rockford Files") - has it been over-hyped? Cause I was hyped all week about it - but I'm kinda a Wolverine-slut.

Date: 2003-05-03 11:17 pm (UTC)See, that's because there are only about 10 or so actors in all of British Columbia. So if you watch enough television/movies, you'll see the same people over and over!
