This person -alliterator has stolen from my vids and Lum's vids as well. My sister wrote to him this afternoon and asked him to take that vid down (Eternal Life). He took that vid down - I checked later tonight. He now knows how we feel about this act. I really don't think he was ignorant that it was wrong before Dawn wrote to him. I just don't see how you don't know the rules - as vocal as we have been everywhere - how do you function enough in this fandom to download these vids and still not know? Whatever the ignorance excuse - Dawn told him this afternoon that we don't like our clips being lifted. He left up his other vids. I didn't think I should have to watch all of his vids to see if there were any more stolen footage - surely if you catch someone at something and explain it is not appreciated and the claim is ignorance - that only applies once? Right? Right? I downloaded the rest of his vids online. Oh, the humanity...
"Don't Fear the Reaper" is all I could really get through and the stray frames are damning. There are direct scenes from Clint Eastwood that I can prove with stray frames alone. There are also several stray frames from a Willow/Tara vid that I could not identify. If anyone wants more details about the stray frames and scene changes - write to me (Tara looks down in beginning of TR, there is a stray frame of Willow in the shower from Wrecked, there is a stray frame of black eyed Willow zooming outside majic box to next cut of close up of Tara's face telling Willow she doesn't think it is going to work in TR. That is someone else's vid. And really clear source. Just sayin'). I can't watch anymore of his vids. I just can't.
I hate this. I really don't want to put my vids back up right now. Dawn has a new Wes/Angel vid that is so great - it is wonderful, she has worked months on this thing and exhausted me andrenenet as betas and she makes me get off the computer to IM Lum about every little change and really - a lot of people have devoted themselves to helping her make the best possible vid about a man, the vamp he loves - his fear that the vamp he loves will eat their baby and the fallout that results. I don't think there has ever been as slash vid like this one. And it is based on fucking cannon. I might post it friend's locked later - we haven't decided yet how to handle anything. But it sucked cause tonight is new Buffy night and tomorrow is new Angel night and we only have one more of those weeks left. Man - it should be a freaking holiday - not this.

and...I'll second the shameless begging for the W/A vid - friends locked, password protected, only for people who juggle snausages and give the secret handshake...I *really* want to see that now.

Date: 2003-04-30 08:49 am (UTC)In Premiere, when you've finished with constructing your vid, export it as an .avi and then once it's done exporting, load it into Premiere again, so it will be one complete file. Then, you create the graphic of your choice using the title wizard and stick it in the corner of the frame, where it will be visible throughout the video. You drag that clip to the video 2 track (in A/B editing mode) and stretch the track so that it covers the vid from end to end, including fancy fades at the beginning or end, if you like - and then tinker with the transparency so that your logo shows up in the corner - you can see how it will look in the transparency preview, so you can futz around with it a bit so that you get the look you want. Export again into whatever format you prefer, and voila.
At least, in theory. I haven't started doing this process, myself, so I can't vouch for the quality loss (if any). Still - it's another way to protect ourselves. Though, grrrrrrr, I hate having to go to all that trouble because of some lazy jackass who can't be bothered to download his own source like the rest of us have to. Grrrr.

People have asked him to take the vids down. Honestly, if he does that, this will all end. There isn't anything more to say. It isn't just us who want the vids down now, but several other vidders whose vids were lifted.
People are very forgiving. I'm in love with an attempted rapist. Hey, he felt really bad about it. Redemption is obtainable.
