Dear Gilmore Girls,
Nov. 8th, 2005 11:58 pmGuess what? You have me. Totally and utterly I am yours.
Here is a hint - you don't even have to have anything major happen beyond Luke and Lorelei argue about which tastes better: pancakes or waffles and Emily fires yet another maid and I will still watch.
Your show could be 42 minutes of pretty people walking around and being happy and I would sit rapt in the glow of my television screen.
Did I mention I don't have tivo? This means I watch the commercials because I believe in commercials and need to know what goods and/or services I should purchase.
Cutting to talk
Okay - so Lorelei made me cry and Rory made me cheer and Luke can never ever do anything that will cause me not to love him. Sample conversation from tonight, paraphrased cause I didn't save it:
Me: What could Luke's deep dark secret be? Is there anything that would cause us not to love him?
Flo: NO!
Me: What if he shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die?
Flo: The other guy was asking for it.
See? Nothing - there is NOTHING LUKE CAN DO TO MAKE US (THE WORLD) NOT LOVE HIM.
Also - I really think I was right last year when I said that Logan is Christopher. Except where Christopher got the strength to strike away from his family because of Lorelei's example - Logan is refusing to even believe he has options. Essentially both of these men are good natured, fun guys but weak and that makes them an unequal and poor match for Lorelei or Rory. And as ory finally started realizing - dragging his drunk ass around and chasing his annoying friends will get old, fast.
So she did what she should have done all along and went to Lane! LANE!! Next ep? Better have some Mrs. Kim. And NOTHING BAD CAN HAPPEN TO ANYONE ESPECIALLY PAUL ANKA.
Sniff - he was bringing Lorelei her shoes so she could take him to the vet! I have been there. AWWWWW!

Date: 2005-11-09 05:31 am (UTC)There is *nothing* Luke can do to make anyone not love him. He is completely lovable. In every way, shape and form.
Sniff - he was bringing Lorelei her shoes so she could take him to the vet!
How adorable was that?! That has to be the best dog eva! I swear!

Same. GG pointless banter is so the most cozy form of entertainment for me.
Not so shockingly, I adored all the L/L stuff tonight with the paint waffling and the bloody-thirsty soccer team.
And I was so very worried about Paul Anka tonight. But! He was still alive and breathing decked out in his soccer jersey by the final scene, so maybe he'll be okay? *hopes*

Date: 2005-11-09 04:20 pm (UTC)Oh, Lorelei broke my heart there at the end - I was crying with her because she really really did try so hard with Paul Anka's neurotic ass and it still wasn't enough and yeah it was about Rory as well - but still - the tears were for the poor sick puppy.
And "if Luke was killing puppies - would we still love him?" was raised last night in chat and we all decided that if he was doing that - he was probably saving them from suffering or something so we will trust his judgement.
I'm suddenly struck with the desire to see Mrs. Kim and Emily Gilmore interact. It would be like a cage match, and my money's on Mrs. Kim.
That would be a thing of awesomey awesomeness. I cannot even comprehend the incredibility of it.
Mrs. Kim needs her own show.

Date: 2005-11-13 05:19 pm (UTC)[Cut to Mrs. Kim and Emily bartering over a cabinet. Lane and Rory watch them from the kitchen.]
LANE [to Rory]: It's like watching the Williams' sisters.
RORY: I wish we had popcorn.

We desperately need more Lane and Mrs. Kim.
I'm telling you - the time has come for The Mrs. Kim Show.

Date: 2005-11-09 07:41 pm (UTC)I love your "Logan as Christopher" theory. I'm totally behind that.
I think that both Logan and Chris are fairly great guys - they are charming and attractive and kindhearted and I can totally see why Lorelei fell for Christopher (over and over again) and Rory for Logan. It just won't ever work.

Date: 2005-11-10 02:48 am (UTC)I am REALLY enjoying the Gilmore Girls!! I started with Smallville, and am splicing in Murphy Brown S1, as well as some Golden Girls in now, but when I really want to smile and feel warm - there's nothing like GG!! And it's a good antidote for the Angel S4 essay I have to write this weekend (and - at least it's a GWEN episode)!

Date: 2005-11-10 02:53 am (UTC)To paraphrase Romans 8:38-39, "For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of Luke the diner owner . . ."
And yay for Rory, and double-yay for Jessie and his wounded-healer wake-up call, to bring her back to herself!
