New Vids! LKBV! AtS!! SV!!!

A long, long time ago, before vagabondage actually named them - Lord King Bad vids were something I just did, without ever really showing them to very many people. Partly because, as in the case of heres_luck it could hurt them, and partly because...well, dude! I vidded Father Figure to Clark and Lex! And while I had a really good reason for doing so - I still vidded Father Figure to Clark and Lex and I totally got into it.

And then it turned out that while I might be on crack - so are all of you. And there was a little party at Vividcon complete with cheese and crackers and tzikeh got us a CROWN. And now I have a website and even though "Two Words" won the poll - how can I NOT post my Lord King Bad Vids first? It would be wrong.

Yeah - this one is interesting. I made it in the intensive Post-Two Words wave (much like "Ring Them Bells" after "Weeping Willow" - it seems I sometimes piggyback vids creatively). I blame tzikeh for this. I can't remember why - maybe because she thought I was just joking.

Okay, so first I have to thank f1renze for all of the photoshop help and for also helping find the perfect graphic for the title page. And making the box! Yay, Flo!

The story behind this vid is that one day I was driving around listening to George Michael, like ya do, and my sister caphricacorn who is of a younger generation, started making fun of the overly emotional lyrics and instrumentation, which is kind of the point. If you are around my age there was a 2 in 3 chance that this song hit you at the perfect moment of angst and hormonal surging. And now Cappy was mocking my trauma. So when "Shut up!" did not having the effect I wanted - I resorted to manipulation and the following conversation ensued:

Me: You know Cappy - Clark totally listens to this song and cries.

Cappy: What?

Me: Yeah - Clark listens to this song up in his loft and thinks "Omigod, this song is about me and Lex!" and he cries and cries.

Cappy: [listens] Oh, he does think this is all about him and Lex! And he wants to be Lex's father figure and you have to vid this for me right now!


So, I did. And if I became a leeeeeetle bit overly into the concept - forgive me. You try vidding "Father Figure" and not become emotionally involved. Seriously - you try it. I think there should be a Father Figure LKBV in every fandom. Just tread carefully around Daddy Adama or I will have to kill you.

I've only downloaded the SV one so far (damn you classes, making me have to wait on things like LKBVs) and omg. Clark totally thinks like that. Probably in those misty black and white shots, too.

Also, the care-bare totally makes it. I am just saying.

Clark IS a Care Bear. The big tragedy in all of this is that Clark is a Care Bear in love with someone who is decidedly not a Bear.

I mean - if Lex knew that this was how Clark's mind worked (and I truly believe it is - these are the events as Clark in all his glory sees them) he would possibly just forget the entire thing.

I think it is very possible that if Lex found out Clark thinks like this, he would give up the whole killing Superman thing entirely because really, what kind of arch-villian battles a primary-colored care bear?

Your video wants to make me realize my LKBV dream of Clark/Lex to "I Want it That Way." Because somewhere, somehow, you know Clark has that song.

I've downloaded and watched. Spectacularly cracktastic but still totally you. Father Figure is one of my favorite pop love songs of all time and I wholeheartedly agree that it should be used in every fandom. So uhm, hop to it and all that. ;) Suggested pairings for other fandoms:

As much as I'd like to take credit for my amazing editing skillz - there really is no more upped hoyay in the vid other than what the show gave me. Yep. It is *that* slashy.

This particular vid? Did not take very long to make at all - especially since I didn't normalize all of the aspect ratios or bother to fix for interlacing or any of a gazillion tech and otherwise details I'd normally get all caught up in. Mainly because this vid is a Lord King Bad Vid and mocking Clark is fun and whatnot. So this took about a week, maybe two?

I wanted to ask about one clip, it's near the middle--Clark and Lex are at the farm looking at each other, and then there's a shot of Martha and Jonathan between them in the background and they walk away, and for the life of me I can't remember what episode that's from.

Shattered - when Lex is all nuts and Clark goes with him. Shattered/Asylum are why I vidded the show to begin with.

Dude, the Clark/Lex? WIBBLETASTIC!!
I realize it is supposed to be a crack vid - but the show is also CRACK!! so it fits. :) And though you can't help but snigger a bit at first it definitely shows that the emotional investment increases as the vid hits its stride and becomes more serious and when you bring on the images from "Shattered", I'm all... goddammit, woman, you made me tear up with a crack vid!

Yeah, as someone said above, your touch shows. That punch in the gut thing you do.

Hee! I started getting all emotionally invested as I vidded. It was rough. There was part of me going "Dude - this is PURE CHEESE!!" and another part going "Shut up! HE LOVES HIM!!! MY BABY!!!!"

And I love Shattered/Asylum -- those eps are the entire reason I vidded "Without You I'm Nothing" and even almost 2 years later, I still like that vid a lot.
