Much Better...
Apr. 23rd, 2003 07:29 pmOne sandwich and copius amounts of overly sweetened iced tea later I feel much better.
I also almost cried watching "That 70's Show." I'm thinking homones. Yep. Must be.
Is the guy that plays Hyde related to the guy that plays Frances on "Malcolm In the Middle?" Cause they look a lot alike and if I'm not mistaken have the same or similar last names. Anyhoo - Hyde is my new tiny boyfriend.
I also would like to report that
drdawn's child is home safely, I was only ten minutes late picking him up and I have fed and watered the boy. He is singing something in the kitchen right now - I think it is either Run DMC or Garth Brooks. It is really difficult to tell the difference, he sings like his mother.

Date: 2003-04-23 06:03 pm (UTC)Francis is played by Christopher Kennedy Masterson, Danny's younger brother. Both are very very attractive. ;)

Date: 2003-04-23 06:29 pm (UTC)Oh, but it could be like if Dawn played Carol Seaver on Growing Pains and you played the governor's daughter on Benson. OR if Dawn were Mallory on Family Ties and you were the son on Growing Pains. No, Growing Pains really sucked...let's make you that same actor as Ricky Schroeder's annoying school friend from Silver Spoons.

Date: 2003-04-23 06:47 pm (UTC)Wait - weren't Carol Seaver and the governor's daughter on Benson sisters in real-life? Except Carol had anorexia and Dawn and I compete enough with diets and weight issues with out bringing in real clinical disorders - cause that could end up seriously fucked up. Plus - I'm thinner.
Dude - BJ on "Full House" was the annoying curly headed boy on "Growing Pains"'s sister and I'm certain there are more relative connections if we look hard enough - but Ricky Schroeder and Alfonso Ribiero were OTP!

Date: 2003-04-23 07:46 pm (UTC)Yes. I think it may technically have sucked the sucking suck out of suckitude -- leaving only a gaping void longing to rise to the quality of mere suckitude.
and then it became "The Hogan Family" cause they killed off the MOM!! It still sucked but now it had edge.
The kind of edge that comes from supermarket tabloid headline-worthy/A Current Affair lead story sized in-fighting, star ego, and studio backstabbing. Now, that's the kind of edge that leads to quality TV comedy. Or, wait, that might be the kind that pushes suckitude into the not even campy fun anymore territory. Yes, I think it's the latter.
Wait - weren't Carol Seaver and the governor's daughter on Benson sisters in real-life?
They were. Tracey and Missy Gold. I was assigning you guys based on ages (Tracey was the oldest Gold sister, Missy was the middle one, don't know that the youngest ever appeared in anything noteworthy.) But we can skip that one if it veers too far into dangerous clinical disorders territory.

Yes. I was thinking about the Camerons on my drive home from work. Based on birth order, Dawn would get to be Kirk and you could be Candace. Appallingly, I have watched enough episodes of Full House that I can pedantically correct you on her character's name. It was DJ. Incidentally, she is married to an NHL hockey player. They have several children. The hockey player's brother is another hockey player, so this sibling connection thing, man...it could just go on and on.

Oh! They were so cute. I was really into that show. I think I'm still bitter about how much I disliked Alfonso Ribiero's character later on The Fresh Prince because he was my little man on Silver Spoons!

Date: 2003-04-23 08:31 pm (UTC)I'm thinking this sibling thing is the next big thing - Like the Kevin Bacon Game. All we need now is to work the drinking into it...
This is now surpassing the Buffy Smurfs...okay - not it isn't. Cause there is nothing that can surpass Buffy Smurfs.

Date: 2003-04-23 10:27 pm (UTC)We can definitely do something with the TV relatives thing...maybe expand to include other family relationships so we can do stuff like hop from Jason Bateman on Valerie to his sister Justine Bateman on Family Ties, then Family Ties' Meredith Baxter Birney to her then husband David Birney of St. Elsewhere to St. Elsewhere's Mark Harmon to his wife Pam Dawber of Mork and Mindy to Mork and Mindy's Tom Poston, who is now married to his The Bob Newhart Show co-star Suzanne Pleshette who was on, well, The Bob Newhart Show, as was Penny Marshall briefly, which offers us the opportunity to jump to her brother Gary Marshall, who was on Murphy Brown, which, despite having a tremendously memorable and famous cast of actors and actresses, offers us little in the way of family relationships (at least if we want to stay in television series land), so instead let's go from Penny Marshall to her then (1970s) husband Rob Reiner who was on All in the Family, as was Jean Stapleton whose son John Putch was apparently on One Day at a Time (my god, the things the IMDB knows) with lots of fun people: I'll note two rock star dead ends: Valerie Bertinelli, who is married to Eddie Van Halen and Mackenzie Phillips who was the daughter of The Mamas and the Papas' Papa John Phillips, and, although there is a somewhat tenuous half-sister-in-law relationship to William Baldwin through Mackenzie's half-sister Chynna, William Baldwin is an extremely lame Baldwin (second only to Stephen) who has never had a TV show, so I can't use him to get to his brother Daniel on Homicide: Life on the Streets. Bastard. Instead I'll take One Day at a Time's Shelley Fabares (who had a couple of pop hits of her own back in the day, you know), who is now married to Mike Farrell of...M*A*S*H*. Yay! I got to M*A*S*H*!!! OK, that's a fun game, but it would be more fun with other people and alcohol.
And that Smurf thing rules. We have to do some more work on that and make something out of it. Like a web page. With pictures.

Date: 2003-04-24 08:13 am (UTC)Alternatively, we could go from Alec Baldwin to Knots Landing co-star John Pleshette, who is a cousin of Suzanne Pleshette and loop back around, retracing our steps all the way to where we began. At which point we could keep going in another direction. Oh, someone make me stop. Please, I'm begging you.
I don't see anything at www.buffysmurfs.com. But you know that you are truly evil for raising the notion of spending any kind of actual money on this project. Wasting time? Okay. Money? On a Smurf-related project? Uh, no. Hey, maybe instead of saying that everything is "smurfy," maybe our Buffy Smurfs can say that everything is "buffy." That would be

Date: 2003-04-24 08:27 am (UTC)And the game looped back upon itself - I am in a happy, er buffy, if dazed state over that.
We can stop for now. But I have a feeling the game will be resurrected at some point in the future.
