Truly, we have all been exposed to that most curious of phenomenon, the bad vid. Some of us have even become aficionados, collecting the bad vids and analyzing exactly what it is that makes them just so... bad.

Every now and then, though, a Bad Vid will transcend itself and arise to a position of something that is just... More. It becomes Lord King Bad Vid (tm vagabondage.

You know a LKBV when you see it. It is a horrible concept combined with compelling execution. You can't look away. It becomes something more to you. You start to think that, YES! Kenny Loggins was always singing about Angel and you just never realized it before. Properly applied, a Lord King Bad Vid can cause you to question the very fabric of society, your belief in a higher power and your decision to not be a florist.

And on Friday night, after Club Vivid cleanup, we will gather to CELEBRATE the one, the only (well actually we have several, but we need more - info to follow) Lord King Bad Vid!!!

Here is the deal: You have to make your own. Yes, I realize that the intarweb is full of LKBVs but dude, we can do better. Seriously - you know it, I know it, the internets know it: When it comes to a truly new level of bad vid -- something so wonderful that it will make coffee_and_ink cry, the only person capable of really pulling that off is you.

So, no "found" LKBVs will be accepted. That is what AIM is for, finding these things and then foisting them onto your friends.

Bring your LKBV in disc form, DVD or mpeg or mpeg II or divx/xvid (if it plays on your Philips or Norcent, then it should play on mine) on CD-R should be fine, or videotape to the con. Once there - check out the board in the con suite, details such as room number and all that should be posted then.

Right now, I am buried in ideas so I am giving this one away for free: The Matrix's Neo to John Parr's St. Elmo's Fire Theme (Man In Motion) cause you know that deep inside, Neo is a whiny 14 year old boy who finds joy in the anthem that they:

Well, I actually started a due South LKBV project to Willie Nelson's "Time After Time" because I thought, hey! Home RUN! And then I started taking it seriously and crying and I made myself stop. So - we NEED a time after time vid. Cause mine makes me cry and not in the good way.

But man, an Angel vid to Holding Out for a Hero? Could Angel be holding Out for a hero? And could his hero be Wes?? Cause OMG!!!

And dude - if you wanna play, coolness, even though you won't be at the con. Just upload or yousendit an mpg/avi of the vid and send the info to me at sisabet at yahoo dot com before the 17th, I'll burn it and take it to the con!

Okay - LKBVs do not take long to make at all. If you do it right, it will just pour out of you, because the thing is? You have been waiting for this vid your entire life and now you are finally free of such constraints as good taste and common sense.

Think back to the summer you were 12. What was your favorite song? What song touched your SOUL? Be honest. Now - what and who do you truly think that song is about? LKBVs are all about honesty and reveling in our gooey cheesy centers!

You *must* find someone to make this vid for the party, cause I am craving this like you are craving Daddy Adama. The search has come full circle! Their destinies are ONE! I was laying on my couch in a menstrual haze when tzikeh called me to tell me you made this post. I didn't think I felt good enough to sit in the chair in front of the computer, but then I just lay there thinking up bad vid idea after bad vid idea, so here I am :). I have too many ideas and not enough time! The one I want to make but I'm not sure I have that much time for is a Lord of the Rings vid to Ozzy Ozborne's "Crazy Train". That, or the Orchestral Manuevres in the Dark song "So In Love" to the Nazi Skinhead movie Romper Stomper. Or maybe I should stick with the original idea and see if I can borrow I-Man from tzikeh and vid that "All The Way"idea. I always have my fall back vid that I made a couple of years ago. It's a Pitch Black vid to the Carpenter's "Close To You", and it is pretty fucking bad. It's a Riddick/Jack vid, btw.
