I am so stressed right now, I could very well be entering a tizzy. I even snapped at Sally (cubicle-mate) several times yesterday and that is not like me. I apologized today.

Sigh.

I know I should be vidding. Cappy is staying with me and last night I kept turning around to watch either "due South" or "The L Word" with her and she'd yell for me to get back to facing my timeline and I'd yell back that I was still clipping and to shut up. Cappy was only able to get thru half of "Kissing Jessica Stein" and for that I am grateful because even though I was not watching it - just being in the same room as the central character twit was driving me nuts.

I totally feel like I am forgetting to do something really really important and if I told you I would do something and you haven't discussed it with me, like, in the last 2 days - then remind me here. I haven't had much time to check my fList so - ya know - don't rely on that at all.

OH. My. God. We have less than a week before deadline and I got a weeks worth of claims yesterday and 6 and ten seconds of black space and if it wasn't for [livejournal.com profile] sweetestdrain sending me to hockeyfic last week - I might have lost it. But right now it is all okay cause I am now a Sports Fan. Or something. Maybe I should just watch "Sports Night"?

So Plan for Today:

Work is giving us Pizza as a thank you for the pounding we took yesterday. I am still on Weight Watchers but I cannot ever pass up free food. Free food trumps all.

I need to run back to my house and bring Cappy back to the office at noon. She can then go shopping, etc from here while I work.

I should probably feed Cappy after work as she seems happier when she has had dinner versus no dinner.

I will then fill in the 6 seconds of blank on the J/S vid and smooth out the edges. This will happen tonight. Yes. Whew.

Tomorrow I stick things in boxes and send to Flo to correct. I need to learn how to animate text. Do I have time to learn how to animate text? EUNICE?????

Tomorrow I upload vids. My Premiere vid is well and truly cooked. It is done. It is forked.

As soon as all of this goes away - I will comfort myself with a flurry of Lord King Bad Vids. Just thinking about it makes me feel better.

I am sending a vid for VVC... as long as my hand doesn't give out. I couldn't work in premiere last night do to said hand.

The vid is done, I have some timing issues and [livejournal.com profile] linzeems and I are working out, but other than that. I could *probably* use your help in looking at the vid, but if you are too busy don't worry about it. Flo is already looking at it for me, although I could use someone who does watch SV.

Good luck on your vids. ::hugs::

I'm not Eunice, but what kind of text animation were you looking to do? Some of it's pretty easy in AE, so I'd think you could definitely get it down in time.

I need to actually have the writing appear as if it is being written by an invisible hand.

Does that make sense at all?

Sure, makes sense. Are we talking cursive, all one "line", kind of writing, or just a normal font that you like?

Better question, are you wanting the text to appear, letter after letter, computer write-on style, or to show up as if it's being drawn with a pen on the computer screen? The first one is really simple, the second one is still pretty straightforward, but it will require a fair bit more legwork.

The second of course. Sigh. Hee - I suck.

Heh. I had a hunch. ;D Does the writing need to look very smooth and polished, or is more a more natural (messy) handwritten look ok?

If a simpler handwritten look is ok, I'd go into Illustrator (Photoshop would work too) and draw the text I wanted (it makes playing with curves easier than Photoshop's Pen tool), then export it to a TIFF and trace it with the Brush tool in AE. If you choose "Write On" from the paint palette in AE, it will automatically give you keyframes that are set to the actual time it took you to draw the brush stroke. You can then adjust them to play at the speed you want. You could do without tracing something too, but if you're using a mouse instead of a pen and tablet, it might be annoying.

I did find a tutorial that uses the AE brush tool to make it *look* like a pretty script font that was made in Photoshop is being drawn, when really it uses brush strokes to cover the lines from the still image, and just peels them back to make it look like it's being written. Just reverses the key frames that the Write-On settings from AE make. With several layers in AE, the same font could be used without going into PS I think. I have no idea what your comfort level with layers in AE and PS is, so this might come off as more complicated at first than it really is.

Here's a link to that tutorial:
http://www.creativecow.net/articles/dickinson_john/handwritten_text/

Unless you're really confident about writing the text you want by hand smoothly--I don't know, that may be exactly the look you're going for :]--I'd go with the method that the tutorial talks about. I think it could be explained a little more simply than it does, but it's good.

What kind of time crunch are you on? I'd be willing to help ya out if you need it, but I'm guessing you want to do the stuff yourself. Let me know if you want any more direction than the tutorial gives--it does provide some project files to play with too.

The last way is way I'd go if you want

Okay, I've lost track...

does the J/S vid want to go to VVC? If so, then the only way we're getting that CD you asked me to get in time for the deadline is for me to take a little journey across town this afternoon. This is totally cool, as my book and I enjoy spending quality time together on the bus, but please confirm the usefulness of this endeavor to your vidding intentions so I know whether I need to get dressed and out of here in the next hour. Thank you.

I was thinking I'd get it finished in time for Nearly New but right now I am so stressed about it that I just... man. I don't care.

It is all shiny and all and I'd love to have it shown at VVC but at this point I am really really really not caring at all. I am running the 440 and rounding the last bend on the track and dude? Why am I doing this? I should just walk right off the field.

Uh huh. So, filtering through the freak out (*hug*), that's a yes, then. No worries. No walking off the field, either. ::glares at you:: There's no crying in baseball.

BUT THERE IS CRYING IN VIDDING!!!

And no - actually. I think it would be relief if I didn't have to slog thru the emotional trauma of this AND Float On and do it in the next 4 days. I really do. Please believe me.

I won't *really* not finish the race. I just won't be all caught up in getting to the finish line on time.

I spent about four hours last night trying to get what I had of my vid so far over to [livejournal.com profile] linzeems and it just would. not. go. And now I'm like, well, what if I finish it and still can't upload it anywhere? OMGWTFBBQ. *flails randomly*
