Deadwood: I still haven't been able to watch "The Whores Can Come" and as far as I am concerned I still have two episodes left for the season. This is good. God. THIS SHOW! This show, this show will rip my heart apart and scatter it to the buzzards and I will thank it for that.
I cannot, cannot recommend Deadwood highly enough. Nexflix S1 and force yourself to watch the entire thing because it is just... even when there is no law and morality is questionable and ethics are long gone, we still rise in these wonderful moments and people still will shine despite the dirt. There is this whole moment of grace, indomitable human spirit thing happening with this show that is just so very balanced. Because this is a show about extremes set in a place that makes those extremes necessary. This isn't about genre or Western or not. This is a show about what it means to live a life. And about what it doesn't mean, because you can go either way.
Angel and Spike In Space:
killabeez is a bad influence. So, my question to my flist - when exactly is Firefly set? How far into the future? Cause she is making me think things out for Spike's timeline and OMG I LOVE SPIKE!! I totally forget this and then he'll do something just so wonderful on the show or in my head and I'll get all gooey, and now it is important for me to know exactly why he went out to meet the sun one morning and why he decided his name was Taft and why that only lasted for thirty years. I need a set-time line so the Spike in my head can fill it, thank you very much. This is important for my mental health right now.
House: Last week's episode was the best one yet. *If* they could consistently maintain that kind of tension and twists on storytelling conventions - I'd totally not mind the Space Medicine. Filtering blood out using a pig? Sure, you betcha!
Also, I adore Sela Ward.
Gilmore Girls: Hey! Crack Van has GG this month! There is a GG fandom! I mean, I was sure that there was and I was never really interested enough to seek beyond the show, but now it is like - right there at my fingertips and that is pretty cool. Also - I am still all 12 year old girl about the finale. SQUEAL!
Queer As Folk: the fifth and final season premiered last night. Just so ya know - I'm not watching it. I'll get updates on the season as it goes and I just...I just don't feel very concerned with any of the characters anymore. It happens. As far as I am concerned now, if Flo and Wendy are happy - I'm happy. But if you are hanging around here hoping for me to start posting or thinking about the show again? Probably won't happen.
Smallville: See QaF.
Vividcon: The bridge on the collab with
f1renze is kicking my ass. I have some tweaks on my solo vid to make. I need to decide if "Weeping Willow" belongs in the Nearly New Show. I am remarkably calm and zen about it all AND am having a much better time watching everyone else's vids come together.
I am more excited, by far, about other vidders' projects this year than any of my own. This is great and freeing and makes me all anticipatory without the nausea! Not that I am not excited about my own -- it is just I am pleased about my own vids and I am jumping up and down about some of this other stuff.
This con? This con is gonna be so amazing this year - start to finish I am just... YAY!!!!
Revenge of the Sith: Gah. All I can say is thank god I never have to watch it again (this is how I feel about TPM and AotC as well) and the few scenes I did enjoy will no doubt be vidded to death.
Also? At about 38 minutes in I recast Hayden Christenson with Ashton Kutcher just because if a lead boy is gonna be that clueless and duh-full he should at least be Kelso.
Yes indeedy - Kelso Skywalker.
Amazon: I just got my delivery right this minute! "Dream Country" you are all mine as I continue to devour The Sandman series at a snail's pace.
I win at delayed gratification (for some things).
And now? Lunch.

Date: 2005-05-24 05:52 am (UTC)Somewhere during watching it, it occurred to me that vids were the only chance this poor thing would have be redeemed. As long as it's not to long songs. I don't think there's enough there for a long song. :P
