Day Two of the Vividcon Auction and I am still in the game!

::feels like a major player::

I don't know how much longer I can keep up - I do know that I have Big Plans. I'd do the evil genius laugh here, but I used up my full quota for the week yesterday. Drat.

Bid now and bid often because this auction just happens once a year and once these vidders are taken - that's it. This is your one and ONLY chance to have this particular vidder do your bidding or vidding. Think about that.

::is safely off the block::

http://www.vividcon.com/auction.cgi

And now I blather at length and with no real destination in mind - about my vidding issues of late. And vids to come. Or not come. Vids to sit there and mock, mainly.

I hope I get a vidder this time because, right now, that feels like the only way I can actually crank out a finished vid. I don't know - I always seem to start a project with promising results only to just kinda whimper to a standstill at about 78% or 2 minutes in. Two minutes seems all I am capable of, especially in Smallville. I have a ton of SV vids that are pretty decent 2 minute drafts and then... I don't know - I just seem to lose interest or I get distracted or something. "Perfect World"'s length was no accident, otherwise it would still be festering on my Hard Drive.

So I need to do some heavy thinking and one of those things is that I am not finishing Smallville vids. Well - SV and Angel vids, but I totally know what my issue is related to finishing Angel vids and it has nothing to do with anything other than I am still in mourning and "Two Words" was made in a total flurry and now I just can't do it. Well, not alone. I'll vid Angel again when Lum wraps up the BBP, cause then she can vid him with me.

But I'm not in mourning over SV. I'm not in *anything* over SV, and maybe that is the problem? But it doesn't feel like the problem - not like when I lost interest in QaF or how my stomach clenches when I try to clip from Angel's final ep "Not Fade Away" and I still have many many ideas. Good ideas - Ideas I want to vid. Just, not enough to sit upright at the computer and do it.

What I really want to do is vid Starbuck. I'd also like to play with Atlantis, but I think I need another season for the vid I want to do. I have Deadwood ideas I need to get out. I think I could finish these vids. God, I hope.

At this point I need to finish something. The "Kill Bill" vid is almost done - just needs a beta and I'm no longer attached to anything in it so the comments won't take time to absorb for the changes - I could tear that vid down right now and not lose any sleep.

And one of these days I could just go in and complete, 4 SV vids at once. That would be funny for me, but possibly cause sanity issues for [livejournal.com profile] renenet cause of the "Oh - this one is ready for beta. So's this one. Oh yeah - and this one, too."

And what will my Premiere vid be? The Kill Bill vid? That is a different pace for me - might be nice. The Deadwood Reverend Smith vid, if I could make it work, would be totally me - it's like I have been working my way up to this project subconsciously, but I don't know if I am ready to do it. Lex and Clark's Anime Adventure would be cool to have for the Premiere show, but I need to collaborate in depth on the tech and Rob Thomas is stealing my Photoshop expert. That and I think if I wait for Lex Luthor: Man of Steel to complete its run, I'll have a much more cohesive narrative.

OMG! I know what I am doing - I am totally avoiding the Deadwood vid by glutting my HD with all these unfinished SV projects. I can't start the Deadwood vid until I clear some space and since I have this project at 20 gigs and this one at 40 and this one here is 15 gigs - I just can't possibly start the DW vid.

My subconscious is a sneaky bastard. I need to ply it with Atlantis Flashfics until it releases me to allow Al to release Smith. Or something.

That or just vid Starbuck.

I'm back in the running, too. I may be going for broke on this one.

This may start to involve the home equity line of credit.

I'm all for Starbuck, but what I really wanted to say was: I know all about the avoidance techniques your brain is using. I've been pinned under my own conniving brain for about six months ago, because (as I learned this weekend when I *finally* shoved it off of me and got up off the mat) some huge chunk of me is living in fear of the Chiana vid. It's so, so easy to be distracted when you're in this state. Lookit the shiny Smallville, your naughty mind insists. Meanwhile you know what you "should" be working on.

Of course, "should" is a silly word. It's fandom. Do what makes you happy.

Honey, you already knew that this is what you were doing. You lost track, didn't you? You started avoiding the Deadwood vid with the Angel vid (which you knew consciously at the time) and then you starting avoiding the Angel vid with the Smallville vids. Clearly I need to beta the Kill Bill vid to give you the satisfaction of finishing a vid and then you can parlay that focus into wrapping up the Smallville stuff. Or you pick how this plays out. I'm just glad you remembered that this is what your subconcious was doing to you, and I'm sorry that I didn't think to remind you of what I didn't realize you weren't recognizing.

Also, I pledge allegience to your Starbuck vid.

I forgot this is what I was doing. I remembered the Kill Bill vid was just riding on the waves of the Invisible Man vidrush and I remembered that I couldn't do the Angel vid despite *wanting* to see it. Normally, I want to see the vid enough to get over the ickyness of dealing with fact that everyone dies. But this is Angel and I don't want everyone to die. I just want them to float on. Or something.

But I forgot that the SV were an actual conscious attempt to not have to deal with any of this and all I remembered is the SV vids are keeping me from vidding DW and I feel tremendous guilt about this which is strange because - um, why? But I think I feel guilt because I don't really care one way or the other about these vids, not like I do the DW vid. I mean - I like the SV vids but they aren't gonna teach me anything about life or myself.

In conclusion: I should just go vid Starbuck.

Oh my God there's no right-click on a Mac. :wonders how anyone LIVES like this:

Lex and Clark's Anime Adventure would be cool to have for the Premiere show, but I need to collaborate in depth on the tech and Rob Thomas is stealing my Photoshop expert

Hey! He didn't *steal* me, he's just...borrowed me. I'm on time share! I'm always up for watching Lex and Clark prance around anime-style. Unless you want me to put Clark in a skirt or Lex in Sailor Moon-style pigtails, then we're gonna have to talk. *g*

I vote for the SGA vid, but also see your point about needing another season for material. Also good to wait for dvds that should be out this fall.

Rob Thomas is stealing my Photoshop expert.

::snickers::

You know... in two weeks he is going to steal me too and then you'll have no one making you pretty shiny things in PS. ::snickers::

You could totally finish "Baby". I mean, I wouldn't suggest premiering it, but what... you're like *one* clip away from the first draft being done? Totally finishable.

And I thought you were going to finish "Might" after Onyk?

Anyway... "Baby" totally finishable... and wait... ::counts:: what else are you working on SV-wise. Because I know you are working on Baby and Might... and I know about your non-SV vids... well two of them anyway. You're holding out on me aren't you? ;)

You could finish "Baby". I'll help if you need me too.

It isn't that I could or could not finish Baby. It is that I just don't care. I don't really want to finish it. I liked it - I vidded it - I had fun and then *poof* - fun is over and there is no emotional connection at all.

I feel like I am dating my vids and the magic is just gone.
