[livejournal.com profile] saussy talked me down from a very paranoid place involving characters I love and betrayal (all resulting from reading waaaayyy to much into last night's episode) and I am grateful. She also got me a copy of Lucinda William's "A World Without Tears" well before the 4-8-03 release date. Saussy is cool. If she tries to tell you she is Lucinda Williams, she is lying. But if you wake up [livejournal.com profile] drdawn out of a dead sleep screaming "OMIGAWD!!! Saussy is Lucinda Williams!!" she will sit straight up and gasp, "No shit!?" at which you can then point and laugh and say, "No. She isn't." Hee, hee good times...

My point is: Lucinda Williams is cool, but not as cool as Saussy. Ya'll should still run out and buy her new album, though. Lucinda's not Saussy's, although if Saussy had an album I would buy it.

I would do a [livejournal.com profile] heres_luck-style music review, but I'm not feeling very descriptive today. My review is more along the lines of: I like this album, "Bleeding Fingers" is a cool song, etc... No deep thoughts today.

Instead, I think more about Lethal Weapon. I went and bought the DVD the other day for the original movie - the one where Riggs is seriously suicidal. I cracked up that there was an extended director's cut available (with previously edited scenes! an extended look into the bleakness of Riggs' homelife! Yay! Bleakness!!) I've watched it like four times already. I see a future without AtS that involves me searching out buddy flicks to watch and pretend. As soon as the fun of Lethal Weapon wears off, I think I might buy "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" - that could really be Angel/Spike, IIRC. So this week it is gay buddy vampire cops and next week it is gay buddy vampire cowboys!! My life is fascinating, I know.

Dawn also has a theory that we could work out a Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid scenario, but that is just way to much betrayal and heartbreak for me to take right now (see above paranoia re: betrayal and BtVS). Maybe "Young Guns" but definitely not "Young Guns II." Cause that would be weird.

How about Alias Smith and Jones instead? (Or are you just too darn young to get any resonance from that?)

I get a vibe off of it - I think it reran with "BJ and the Bear" on channel 13 growing up. I didn't watch it because "What's Happening" and "Different Strokes" were on channel 5 and if you held onto the antenna and lifted your left foot, the reception for channel 5 wasn't half bad. And I had a serious thing for Rog.

Hmmm...don't get me onto to buddy TV shows yet Kes - we have all summer to keep me entertained.

My God - if you haven't seen it... you can download all the episodes over the summer and watch. them. all. It will take you forever.

You can admire the loveliness of Pete Duel, and Ben Murphy (later The Invisible Man).

Except, oops! he was called The Gemini Man instead, for some reason. Same idea, though.

Now I have a sudden urge to watch "BJ and the Bear" - maybe I just need a Greg Evigan fix - does "My Two Dads" still come on?

I talked you down? When was that? I feel like I keep missing you. And BoB was down all day! :sob: Maybe it wasn't me. Maybe it was Lucinda Williams posing as me. She does that sometimes. I love your buddy-cop, buddy-cowboy obsession. I might have to rent Lethal Weapon. It might just "prove" my husband's theory that I've devolved into a 14-year-old boy, but what the hell. I  you.
p.s. When do we get Lucinda Spuffy?

You did - you reminded me on the DG thread at BoB that Dawn got whaled on by Spike's cot in LMPTM - so she is still corporeal. Big, big relief.

We need to have a big ole party featuring 80's action movies and cowboy flicks (much better than "Steel Magnolias" and "Beaches" *gag*). To prove we are still girly we can braid each others hair.

Lucinda Spuffy is resting now. The first draft is complete and it is almost finished. I'm taking a break and letting Dawn finish her Wes/Angel vid. The world needs W/A vids far more than S/B vids. And that is what we do Saussy. We vid for the world *said very solemnly*
