My Three Fandoms: The Girly Edition

Made it to Mom's in just over 2 hours. In that time I had a viable vid ideas originate for Starbuck, River Tam, and Cordelia Chase.

I really think the Starbuck idea has legs and I have to get my hands on source that does not have the ugly Skywhatever bug in the upper left. WTF is that anyway? Network identifiers are annoying anyway in the lower right corner, but at least nothing ever really happens there. People, *eyes* are in the upper left corner. I can not vid with eye obstructions.

The River vid idea requires much more tech than I currently know... but man. River POV. Everything would have to be all messed up and angled strangely and it makes me happy.

The Cordy idea is just me reaching, but still nice to think about Cordelia.

I've already seen people posting things that are labelled as Region 2 DVD rips, but I'm not sure if they're for real or not. Given the turnaround time on things these days, they'll probably have US DVDs out in a few months or so. At least, I've got my fingers crossed.

And I've got big love for all three of those characters, so - eeee!

kwaldo12 just posted that the R2 DVDs are coming out next week, so the rips could be for real. Not sure about R1 release date.

According to tvtome.com, Region 2 DVDs street date is March 28, so those could really be S2 rips from advance copies.

That, my dear, is the logo of Sky One, the satellite channel in the UK where Battlestar Galactica was first shown (back in October 2004). Upper left for maximum annoyance value.

Sky One would probably *be* my favorite channel if I was actually in the UK (they played Angel, right? I have some stuff I DLed years ago with SkyOne on it), but that logo is in the worst possible place to put a logo. It makes no sense. Why? Why do they do that? And why aren't the people rioting in the streets over the logo placement? Sheesh - PRIORITIES!!

Sky is the satellite company with all the money and therefore purchasing power, so as members of proletariat, we can hate it for hogging so many American shows that might otherwise be on terrestrial tv (and therefore free).

On the other hand Sky did 75% fund Battlestar Galactica, so we must love them for that, the logo graffitti-ing bastards.

p.s. Ooh! The British dvd is on sale now. Source must surely follow.

I find it goes in waves for me. After I've done two or three boy-centric vids, I then hit a place where I'm all girls, all the time. It goes back and forth like that.

Well, I think what happened is that I am actively searching for a song about Aeryn... the perfect song for her, and as a result, I am finding songs about everyone that *isn't* her.

That and apparently I've been waiting to vid Starbuck my entire life and just did not know it.
