Lost Fannish Weekend: Stargate Atlantis and Battlestar Galactica (just miniseries as B-track)

I am missing big chunks of this weekend.

Normally, my lost fannish weekends are very carefully supervised affairs with tzikeh making certain there are breaks, b-track programming, and plenty of cake.

I shouldn't be allowed to attempt this at home. I mean, I think I looked at some vids and made comments and I know I did some work on the Clark-Is-Confused vid Friday... wait, I didn't. Not at all. I didn't touch Premiere all weekend, I am fairly certain.

And woe is me, for Clark is still confused. Luckily for all concerned the purpose of my vid was never to actually explain things to him. So at least I didn't leave him hanging. Of course now I have "The Purpose of this Vid is to Flip Out and Kill People" running through my head, but that isn't even appropriate.

I had big huge important plans, y'all. I was gonna wallow in Smallville for a while, actually make some of the vids I have been planning for a long time now and build up my confidence to make the Deadwood vid...

OMG DEADWOOD!!! I FORGOT TO WATCH DEADWOOD!!

Three guesses what I watched instead? And I am taking away 2 of those guesses. At least I didn't miss Arrested Development (and the person who decided to give Buster a hook? I want to french kiss that person) and I can watch Deadwood tonight.

Just so you know the extent of my confusion right now: There is a key-lime green suit hanging on my closet door as I type this. I paid money for this suit in an apparent insane, caffiene and McKay and fic induced fit of buying suits. I have no idea. I think the idea is "Easter is next weekend, I shouldn't wear black again" and hence I just went out and picked out the monstrosity that is the furthest I can get away from black and still maintain my retinas.

There is not enough self-tanner in the world that this suit will not wash me out. There are bows involved in the jacket. I HAVE NO IDEA WHY I BOUGHT THIS SUIT AND I BLAME SIEGE 2!!! Obviously, I was thrown by that episode and off my usual game.

What kind of shoes does one wear with a key-lime green suit? The cut is actually nice - looks like something Emily Gilmore would wear, but still it is nicely cut. Just...bright. With bows.

Also - no matter how much I may want it to be, OutKast's Southernplaylisticadillacmuzik is NOT about Atlantis. Although both are fun, they are not interchangable.

Also 2 - I really need, need, need the Mary Cherry who lives in my head to stop chiming in "Hotlantis" every time I think "Atlantis" - I don't care how much pr0n I have read - she needs to stop doing that. It is very distracting.

And finally: Battlestar Gallatica needs to sit tight and wait its turn. No fair with it giving me vid ideas from the credits alone. So, shush.

since you mentioned SV vids in this entry I just wanted to let you know how much I loved the recent Chloe vid. I can't believe what you were able to do with a mere 2min and 20 seconds of song (I think it was something like that).

I think my favorite part is the first chorus of "want to be involved" when you show the Clark/Chloe hugs all the times he has saved her....although, really the whole thing is just perfect. so thanks for sharing!

No kidding! I figure my BSG vid will just be a cut and past from the credits. That way I can finish it in five minutes and get back to what I was doing before I was so rudely interrupted by the idea. Hey, as plans go, it's not a spectacularly bad one, just a minorly bad one.

I am loving the idea of the key lime suit that made you buy it. It probably has machiavellian plans, and you liberating it from the store was its first step towards world domination. Listen in the night for its cackling.

I had my first real BSG vid idea today at the gym. It frightens me. I may do it anyway. Remember that version of "Closer" I have with a female vocalist? It's Six.

I don't even *like* Six, and the vid would have to be all about her relationship with Baltar, and I can't *stand* Baltar. And yet the vid is whining at me.

Actually, I do - if I continue on with this embryonic idea as she is the visual harbinger. But man - I don't like Baltar at all, and I haven't even gotten past the miniseries.

Clark is *always* confused. He will be confused no matter what you do - sic a girl on him, show him alien artifacts, string him up and take his gay - the boy exists in a perpetual state of not-understanding. Poor, poor stupid alien.

(piper47 showed me what you sent her of your Clark vid this weekend - Clark! He is so afraid of girls! And boys. As he should be. They're bad for him, apparently.)

Also....key-lime green? I am struck by the desire to see said suit. I am also struck by the desire for pie. Mmm, pie.

I think there may be differences in Kryptonian biology and sexual maturation that account for some of his... well, hesitance is a kind way to describe him spazzing out every time he is touched - but I think most of this is related to fear of touching and being touched, which makes sense.

Early on, he seems most comfortable with Lana - whom he has known his entire time on Earth and who will not ever push him physically. When she does push him sexually, he spazzes out like clockwork.

Then we get to Alicia and he does relax around her somewhat - I think mainly because she knows and also because she has her own powers and he really can't hurt her.

Factor in the fact that while he seems all ho-ish on Red K, he actually isn't - either making out with Chloe, or starting a bar fight and dancing with strangers, or picking up car dealers and then leaving them when they try to touch him... or even marrying Alicia before the proceded w/ the sex. Clark isn't just confused - he is terrified.

You know...that makes so much sense. Clark is *seriously* afraid of the touchy. That also explains his reaction to Lex. All slashiness aside, Lex is very tactile and Clark always looks scared to death when Lex hugs/touches him. Which explains why the only person he has actively pursued has been Lana - Lana is about as sexually agressive as a Cabbage Patch Kid, so she is "safe" to him.

And now I want to do something totally inappropriate, like put No!Touchy!Clark in my vid. Maybe I could just work some abs in there...
