For the first time ever during an episode of House, I had to call [livejournal.com profile] drdawn during a commercial break to bitch!

That wasn't even Space Medicine, y'all. That was nothing more than television making me very, incredibly angry.

On the other hand - cutting for the good

Cameron - asking House if he liked her. Oh - my heart. I was yearning with her and silently encouraging House to answer that yes, she is his favorite. Don't tell anyone else. How I longed for him to do this. We won't explore my issues, issues I suspect I share with the character.

Other good: The iPod. Until the iPod scene, I was never going to watch this episode again. Now, I'll at least download it.

The executive's story pinged my grrrr center and kind of soured me on most of the episode. It is just - well I was pissed off to begin with that she had to have these conditions (well she is a successful woman, of course there is something terribly wrong with her) then I became incensed at the comparison of self-injury and bulemia with suicidal - wtf? That didn't even make sense - apples and oranges. And then, the idea that an otherwise healthy 32 year old would be denied a heart because she was bulimic - because she suffers from a TREATABLE MEDICAL CONDITION! Gah, that just drove me nuts.

Also - her SI was not noticed by anyone else at the hospital prior to House and she was in the ICU? WTF? Makes no sense and I require my intelligence at least be nodded at by the space medicine - this was insulting.

And then my final issue was Chase absolutely invading her privacy - AFTER there was no need for it. I understand the gray area of searching her home/things if the goal is to save her life. The goal here was to simply satisfy their own curiosity and that bugs the shit out of me.

See, I don't see him getting fired because he scanned the wrong leg. Shit happens - I would not be upset if he was fired over this blatant disrespect of someone's privacy. You just can't do that shit.

Was it the medical stuff? I find the medical stuff the least interesting part of the show anyway. Once, while I was supposed to be chaperoning some middle school thing, I read a medical mysteries book one of my kids bought from Scholastic Book club and I swear they got half the House plots from that. The first episode I saw, I solved in the first 5 minutes of watching.

Tell me it wasn't, "Read less, watch more TV." Because Cameron reading "Getting to Yes" and House realizing that (how many people have tried to use that strategy on him, I wonder?) was one of my favorite bits ever on the show.

What was the alternative title he made up? The Hitchhiker's Guide to Influencing People or something like that?

No I really liked almost everything in this ep that did not have to do with the woman executive. And yes - I can ignore the idiot medicine to a point, but then at a certain point it is just lazy-ass writing that never bothered to research a damned thing and I can't help then if they freaking offend me with their stupidness.

Right there with you on the Cameron/House arc. My heart hurt a lot in that scene.

Hi, by the way. I'm a friend of [livejournal.com profile] f1renze's, and found you impossible not to friend after many gushing sessions IM chats with her. *waves*
