New Vid!! Invisible Man!!

OMG. I am posting a vid. It has been over six months since I have finished anything at all and I worked on this vid for over three months cause I just...my god - I cannot tell you how much fun I have had making this vid, which is really kinda weird considering this is not a fun little happy vid, but whatever. This is me. I eat angst for breakfast and then I have a nervous breakdown for lunch and none of this is really doing anything about telling y'all about this vid, is it?

Okay - first of all: tzikeh and Dorinda have been patiently hearing about this concept (and also entertaining me) since March. That was when this song went on repeat at my house. I am still not tired of this song (but I have a very high tolerance for repetition). They helped convince me that the idea was not only kinda solid, but also interesting. I love you guys.

Then I proceeded to drive my betas insane. Seriously - I think I broke renenet. At the very least she joined me in christening the vid Dewey. sockkpuppett actually went and watched the entire series and she is just so great. And then! Cause I needed more people to join me in being crazy - we rounded off beta duties with permetaform and elynross and they both helped keep me focused on the end.

Except I never wanted to just stop. It is hard for me, right now - with the vid files trimmed and put away, to admit that I am finished with this vid. But this is Dewey. And I dressed him up as best I could and I went and found a village to help raise him and he might have chewed through his right sleeve, but that is only because he got tired of waiting and I told him to sit there and not move and then I was distracted by another vid for just one moment!

And it is good think I don't have kids - you know?


So - the vid (Premiered at Escapade last night):

Fandom is The Invisible Man. Vid is set (psychologically - if that makes any sense?) between the events of "Enemy of My Enemy" and "The New Stuff" so there are spoilers for almost the entire series. If you are DLing the series to watch - don't watch the vid until you've at least seen through "Possessed" cause I would hate for you to be spoiled. It would pain me.

Song is Weeping Willow by The Verve. The credits for this vid were done by the amazing fan_eunice who can make anything happen. She is my Fairy Godmother of After Effects.

Eventually this vid will go up on Headtilt -- after I overhaul the site (muahahaha the power). Until then, it will be available in this post.

Oh, I can't not tell you everything you did to me with this vid... I've been jotting stuff down off and on All. Week. Only usually at work *kisses thumb drive* and since I can't actually watch the vid at work this was problematic. But.

See, when you call it a "desperate moment" you are so not kidding. I mean, it is THE "This is the corner, and here we are backed into it" moment.

*sniff* Okay, so... there's setup, and oh what whacking lot of setup it is. Before we even get lyrics he's trapped, he's alone, and there are guns and red eyes and skipping (!!) and snakes and that needle. Always with the needle. And his brother's given up on him and he's walking away. Because, you know, here's Darien and here are all the ways in which his life just sucks. (Also, so much love for Darien!bondage. *ahem* Okay there, I said it.)

And then here's Bobby. (And I know you had no shortage of BobbyandDarienwithnopersonalbubble clips because it's so very everywhere, but you naturally picked the best ones. They take care of each other! That's buddies, man.) And then you give it to us... the thing that can take Bobby away from Darien is inside Darien, all the time. All the time. And I think right here I hate you a little bit because There'll be no better way is the tombstone. But Bobby saves him, right? Again and again. Only. Who can save Bobby?

I hope you see what I see No one sees Darien's hell from the inside but Darien, no matter how they try, they just can't. And then that drawn out I and The Injection... hating you again, but only a little, because there's love. And there's nothing Darien won't do for Bobby. Nothing.

The world don't stop The problem isn't just not-going-away... it's worse. Darien can't stop it, Bobby can't stop it... It has to end And you did that thing, where Darien vanishes from in front of the van. *cries*

There's a clip in here, in the Save me chorus, that just grabbed my gut and twisted when I saw it in the ep, with Darien falling to his knees pointing to his arm; he's reaching out for what he needs, and he's reaching out for Bobby, but it won't keep being enough.

I hope you see what I see ... and Bobby does. That has got to be one of the most brilliant plot movements ever, to give Bobby a glimpse of Darien's madness from the inside. And then Bobby knows, and Darien knows Bobby knows. What has to happen. Because Bobby will try and try to save Darien but it won't. Be. Enough.

*deep breath* Darien knows what will happen but then he realizes how it will happen and... he can't take that. And I'm hating you again -- in the best way -- for that tombstone.

Because Jesus Christ, Darien doesn't want Bobby to remember him at the wrong end of Bobby's gun. So he has to go and he walks away and takes his madness with him and I am so broken.

*weeps*

Except possibly fic.

Hee! Actually, I did just fic... Oh! I should post over in hot_donuts, huh? *slaps forehead*

But you know, for this, you should totally get fic that I wasn't already writing. Or something. *sniffs*
