Getting Caught Up on Comics, Laundry and Hating Headtilt.

So, when I discover I only have Nightwing up to 102 and that I am loving Year One (OMG!! CLARK! Smart and Sassy Clark! And Snarky In-the-Dark Lois! ::loves::) I am going to want to immediately run to the comic store and buy 103/104. Just so you know.

Good thing I haven't figure this out yet.

Today I have made this veggie tart thing and I have a pot roast in the oven and tonight I am having the roast and new potatoes in white sauce (and I hope I remember how to make the white sauce. My phone is acting strange and I don't know where my mother is today. It's like a roux with milk - right?) and veggie tart for supper.

And I have to run to the laundromat in a minute (after I dye my hair) and wash a couple of loads of clothes. I've got 2 issues of Astonishing X-Men to read while the hair thing is accomplished, and the third trade of "The Runaways" to get me through washing my clothes.

And "Supreme Power" 14 for later tonight and that would be the perfect weekend if I could only get freaking Headtilt to cooperate and let me post this frelling vid. Dammit.

I have been waiting to post this vid for MY ENTIRE LIFE!!

White sauce is simple: melt 2 TBSP butter. Stir in 2 TBSP flour, plus salt, pepper and spices. Heat until bubbly. Then add milk. Start with one cup. If it's too thick, add more by the 1/4 c.

An age old question of mine ...

What exactly are new potatoes? Are they the opposite of old potatoes?

Technically, yes; any potatoes are new when they are small. Traditionally, though, "new potatoes" means young waxy potatoes (as opposed to russet potatoes), most commonly small round red ones like red norlands but also sometimes fingerling potatoes like rose or russian banana.

Which is probably much more than you ever wanted to know. *g*
