So I am here, safely at my parent's home. I also now have Wonder Woman S1, a Wonder Woman Barbie Doll (seriously - I think I asked for it 20 years ago and mom just remembered) and best of all ANGEL SEASON 4!!
Getting here was interesting. The Parkway that I take for most of the way is fairly deserted but today it was almost totally plowed. I passed 4 plows on the way - some making a second run. I was excited to find the roads in such good condition and if the parkway was this clear, I figured I-65 would be great.
I figured wrong. I don't know why, but apparently one of the most travelled routes in the state did not rank clearing - or something. 65 was horrible. Traffic was lined up and moving at about 5 miles an hour.
Then I noticed something - a series of Tractor Trailers that all appeared to be acting in unison. Now, you have to know that I am a woman of a certain age and a Daughter of the South. I have a certain skill set that was carefully developed by repeated viewings of the Smokey and the Bandit movies -- supplemented by BJ and the Bear and Sheriff Lobo. I was watching something familar take shape and it did not take long for my wondering eyes to ascertain that directly in front of me was a CONVOY!
Well now - this was almost the fulfillment of a wish I did not know I wanted. I immediately jumped in line even though the convoy was getting over into the lane that was barely moving and I was soon rewarded as we suddenly hit freshly plowed roads and shot past all the looky-loos who had just passed us by.
A Christmas Convoy - I'd write a song but I think someone already did.

Date: 2004-12-24 12:55 am (UTC)It also occasionally got me around nasty wreck-induced traffic snarls. Yay, truckers!
