I *love* being snowed in. I have decided that I am, in fact, snowed in, for if I look out the window here on the second floor, I see snow. I will not look at the roads. Snow in the trees is all I need.

I am watching movies and wrapping presents and cleaning up a bit here and there and knitting and all is well with my soul.

I just finished watching Peter Jackson's "Heavenly Creatures" and since I am a morbid person who spends hours at a time watching Forensic Files and likes to nap to American Justice -- I googled Parker-Hulme Murder cause I wondered about how the movie came about - and Juliet Parker is now known as Anne Perry - the mystery novelist. I did not know this.

Also - George Clooney appears to have been studying Cary Grant in "To Catch a Thief" for the "Oceans" movies but Marky Mark really sucks in "The Truth About Charlie" and it makes me sad. I am still enthralled by the at will hotness of Matt Damon and need the Bourne movies on DVD in order to study this phenomenon.

ETA: forgot the entire reason I was posting. I have been using http://www.btefnet.net of late since Suprnova was down a lot. Now that it is no more - well - it looks like this place is still active. See - Suprnova didn't actually store the torrents - it was just a hub - a place to find them. I think torrents will still be around - we just have to find out where they are now.

Of course I could just be talking out of my ass. Ha! I don't care. I am snowed in! Lalalalala.

I remember when the film was made, a very young Kate Winslet gushing about how she hoped it wouldn't mean the two girls being hunted down by the press. Of course, that's exactly what happened in Juliet Parker's case, but it didn't seem to do her too much harm in the end.

She still lives in Scotland and churns out the books. I tried one once, but found it rather turgid.

I remember reading some Anne Perry books when I worked at the Half-way house (I was weekend manager and did my 40 hours all in one go - starting at 7am Saturday -- there was a lot of downtime) and not really liking her -- but recommending her books to my mother. I think she bought a few.
