It is *snowing* - I am making a pot roast with red wine and mushrooms and onions for supper and I am gonna finish cleaning the kitchen and have sloppy joes for lunch.

With tater tots. Maybe. Maybe not.

Here is why I am even near the computer right now -- Is "Dead Like Me" cancelled? Cause I have been vacillating between ordering Showtime or HBO and this would make that decision really really easy. Cause "Deadwood" is coming back - for sure - right?

Deadwood is definitely coming back. :-) New episodes are filming now, and I think will start airing in March. Near as I can tell, Dead Like Me is in fact cancelled.

BTW, I got your Christmas thank you card, and laughed my ass off. You're certainly welcome! :D

Before I make anyone panic, let me just say that my only source is some comments on Showtime's message boards. I don't know this for sure!

OTOH, Showtime cancelled Jeremiah, so they are plainly cruel and fond of shooting themselves in the foot.

Er -

Dead Like Me was re-upped for next year. Where are you seeing that it's cancelled?

I just happened across the comments:

It may be total B.S. I just saw a lot of people talking about it, and thought it was probably true, given the fate of Odyssey 5 and Jeremiah. But the original source doesn't seem to be an official one. Read and see what you think.

It may be. At least that's the buzz on the Showtime boards.

You're kidding. I'd read it was renewed! What are people saying?

I went over to the DLM showtime board and most people were lamenting the fact that it had been cancelled.

If you can get into the Showtime boards for DLM, maybe you can find out more info.

They say about a trace to about 1 inch. Looking outside I'd say closer to a trace. But dang, it's cold out there.

Is DLM cancelled? I live in LA (land of incessant billboards, bus bench ads, posters and building adverts) and saw several for it recently. Plus I recall seeing ads on Showtime earlier in the year for it.

As for recent advertising, the second season just aired from late July to late October. The discussion is about whether it will be back for a third season.

Well, whatever the fate of DLM (::hopes it won't be cancelled because we *need* some undead characters to love::), you should get HBO in time for the second seasons of Carnivale (Jan. 9th) and Deadwood (March or whatever Killa said -- last year it aired in March, right when I was in my free HBO honeymoon period with the new cable company...sigh). You've seen Carnivale, right? If not, I must fix this immediately.

If the DLM news gets turned around, season 3 would be months away, anyway, so you don't really have to make a Sophie's Choice. Just get HBO for now.

But fuck.

Hmm. I'd heard DLM was renewed too. Hope the rumors aren't true. :(

I am envious of your snow! And your pot roast. Wish I was there. :)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just talked to Eric Muth, the show is cancelled. Seems it was "too expensive" to make, what crap!! I told him it may be a blessing after all; Ellen will do well in whatever role. Let's hope they at least put season two on DVD. Well, I'm going drive my musclecar out of frustration. P.S. I asked Eric to convey "our" feelings to Ellen. Ya'll take care, Dave
