What does your first name mean?
God's oath or consecrated to God. I was under the impression it meant beloved, but 5 out of 5 internet baby name dictionaries can't be wrong. Also - it is Hebrew. This makes me feel very special and Old Testament-y
What does your middle name mean?
Merciful. Heh. Imagine that.
What does your last name mean?
Lathe worker. Hmmm... possibly a future career?
So what does your name mean when put together?

What would you have been named if you were the opposite gender?
No idea. Mom? Cappy was supposed to be named Gretchen but I put a stop to that. I don't think we ever really considered her possibly being a boy. Dawn wanted to name her kid after a soap opera character (and did!!) but she was 17 so what do you expect? If the boy had been a girl she would have named her Raven. Hee.
Any other name oddities?
I'm named for a great-aunt and my father's sister so I am the namesake to 2 people - growing up this was strange as Dawn was the namesake to only one aunt (and btw - Dawn legally changed that name to our father's first name when she was in her early 20's - not due to any disrespect to the aunt, but because since she was getting divorced and she had to legally change her name anyway she decided she liked his name more. My idea again, ahem) and our brother shared a middle name with our father, I felt more like a token to even out the name distribution - almost as if they couldn't decide on a name so they picked relatives out of the hat. That being said I liked and like my aunt Elizabeth and my aunt Jane. Cappy's middle name is my mother's maiden name - I decided that we could get one section of the family on her side in a single fell swoop. Her middle and last names are also the name of a certain hot yet evil TV character that we tease her about.
