Okay - so I pick Sid-the-Dog-Faced-Boy at the kennel and we were driving along and I was thinking about work and how sucky it would be to be in an accident and BOOM!

Rear-ended.

Now here is where I must complement GM. The Buick's crumple panels went to work absorbing the impact and between my seatbelt and the seatback the only part of my body to move was my head. Actually - my neck was KILLING me all month and really bad this last week (I store stress there) and it kinda feels better now - so weird. But I'll take it.

Sid was also seatbelted and is fine. I don't think he realized what happened.

I exchanged info with the other driver and made the executive decision (based on LOTS of experience on when a police report is needed) to just exchange info and not file a police report. No one was injured and both vehicles are drivable and my first words to her when I found out who she was (works for a local vineyarc) were "I LOVE YOUR WINE!" She had to be somewhere for her kid and I had the dog who needed to be at home and it was rush hour at one of the busiest intersections around.

Also - I had to pee.

NOW I AM SO JAZZED WITH ADRENALINE THAT I CAN BARELY TYPE!

If I wasn't so afraid of heights, I'd want to go jump out of an airplane RIGHT NOW!

Is this what it feels like to work out a lot?

So, while part of this sucks - part of it could have really sucked and now it doesn't and I am so okay with that. I embrace the not-suckiness of this and feed it grapes.

WOW. I should make a vid RIGHT NOW. Or eat something. I wonder if food will taste better?

Nooooo... no one must mess with my girl! How dare they hit you! But I'm glad you could find the excitment in it, though please promise me you will not be going out in search of large adrenaline needles and jabbing them into your heart, 'kay? Take care of yourself. Sheesh, what a homecoming.

OMG--I just signed on to try and catch up and read vividcon posts, and I saw this! I'm so glad you and Sid are okay and Sid wasn't hurt, but I do know how you feel. I never felt so alive as the night we almost got killed in an apartment fire. Just don't get addicted to that feeling, okay?

I'm very glad you're okay!

I've felt that same HIGH each time after I've gotten a tattoo and I always assumed it was adrenaline. It's COOL.

Only you could make me crack up even as I freak out with pointless post-facto worry about you.

But I'm with Mely: no more getting hit by cars. I will come give every driver in the area a stern talking-to if I have to.

The need to pee is a powerful motivator. I'm so glad you're all right!

Between you and Debchan et al getting sideswiped and me and Mely almost getting creamed on the way home, I'm thinking that there might be something to that Ring vid that [livejournal.com profile] permetaform made. *looks at calendar* OMG SEVEN DAYS! I will get no sleep!

I'm very glad you're okay. Had you been injured at all, I would have had to go to Kentucky to avenge you. And while that's a worthwhile mission, I hate to miss work.

Take care! Once the cool adrenaline wears off, lie down and have ice cream. I demand this.

[HUGS] I'm glad you didn't have anything worse from the accident. Based on personal experience I'd say wait a day or two to figure out if there's any physical damage.

[sends good vibes]

You have my total sympathy. [livejournal.com profile] debchan and I were sideswiped leaving Chicago yesterday. Everyone is fine (I think the pancakes beforehand acted as tranquilizers) but the car is a bit dented.

I don't want to sound the discordant note in the post-accident adrenaline (which I completely understand), but please take note of how your neck and back feel tomorrow and the day after. Sometimes those bad effects don't occur till later.

That said, I hope both you and Sid are a-okay.

I handle bodily injury claims from car accidents for an insurance company. Believe me - I am fine.

Also - back problems with a newer car and seatbelt use - well there is no mechanism of injury from the seatbelt and seatback protection for a rear end impact. I experienced that for myself yesterday.

I got rear ended a couple of weeks ago. It sucks...no one should be damaging our cars!!

Glad you and Sid are okay.

Gah! I'm very glad you and Sid are all right. But gah!

Yes, yes, adrenaline, tasty food, on a post-accident high, blah blah. It's all very nice. Enjoy it while it lasts, because this is it. NO MORE BRUSHES WITH DEATH. I forbid it! I cannot lose my Sisabet!

Dear sisabet

I'm happy to hear you and Sid are road worthy, still, even if your car isn't. And I heartily approve of your doggie seatbelt.

The least that woman can do, in my view, is send you a crate of tasty wine, while your taste buds are still tingling. It's only fair.

Ack! So glad you're okay, and Sid also. Very scary. We nearly had a pileup on the highway on our way home also, but [livejournal.com profile] cesperanza's Jim Ellison-esque mad driving skillz saved us.

And an "ack!" from me, too! I just met you, dammit, so no brushes with death or even bodily injury, please. Glad to hear that you and Sid are all right.

Though, like many others, I am a little afraid of the implications of that "Ring" video now...
