That was generally my reaction too. Big resounding WTF?! Of course, this was nearly 24 hours ago...I am amazed that my local channel gets it on Tuesdays...right after Buffy. Lack of WB paying off for once...

Anyway...point was, definitely shocked by what happened, and doing my best to maintain the 'no spoiler' thing... That ending came out of nowhere...

It unfortunately looks that way...which is definitely cruel and mean given that we're only halfway through Feb. It's sweeps month, what's wrong with these people? February and November you should be able to count on at least 3 weeks, if not 4, of new eps in a row... *sigh*

Apparently, they are a) airing the last two episodes of Birds of Prey; and b) making sure Angel doesn't have to compete with the last episode of Bachelorette.

At least, that's what I heard. Plus, there's a few other spoiler-y things going on that I won't go into. ;-)

I had my vibes, from way back, and you know about them. It was really just a matter of lining up all of my evidence, but, even so, the last 2 minutes of AtS floored me. Sigh. good tv. Good, good tv.

Next questioh: There obviously *was* a spell. Did Cordy putting the key back into her pocket and saying, "leave the past in the cage" (or something like that) actually reverse the spell?

I'm saying it here now. I think Angel was resouled and then the soul taken out of him again, chopchop. The soul is hanging around the cage. (Rampant spec but fun)

Totally OT, but to let you know. NO0b? No matter what program I use to burn them, they do NOT play on the Mintek. They look great on the computer. Sigh. Now, I have to try to find a better, bugless version of Soulless and Calvary.

Yes! I rewatched and that is Angel in the cage - totally. I think the soul-eater's skull and the spell just kind of souled him enough to bring him out (like Connor's soul in Darla was enough to cause her to feel guilt)... or something like that, still working on it in my head. He changed the moment he stepped out of the cage (also Angelus acting as Angel was such a parody that I don't think Angelus could have pulled off the cage deal -kudos to DB for his acting, btw - that was some good work) so I think you are right on the money. I also bow down to you for totally calling Evil!Cordy.

I've had troubles getting SVCDs to play on my Mintek (I can get into the files and play it partially) I thought it was because I wasn't burning them correctly, but my player is an older version than the 1600 that is out now - When I went to the dvdhelp place and looked it up I was fairly certain that the new one could play everything - I looked at Best Buy last night and it does not say SVCD on the box (With all the excitement over Angel I totally forgot about all this) so I picked up a Samsung w/ some birthday dough. I'm trying it out tonight and will let you know. I'm pissed because the Mintek is such a great machine overall it should play SVCDs - is it working for you at all?

I'm with you. No matter how much of Angel was there after the spell, there was something in combination with Cordy, what she said and the key that she put in her pocket. Don't you think so?

The Mintek has played everything I've thrown at it except NO0b's XSVCD's. I think it has something to do with his encoding. I've burned 2 of his encodes with Nero, VCDEasy and Roxio. Nero wouldn't even burn it. Roxio burned it but the audio was off. VCDEasy burned it just fine, but none of them (and they were different eps) played on the Mintek. Of course, the other VCD and SVCD's? Great. Fantastic, even.

I'm also spending today clearing out my HD and putting Muffle's eps thru TMPGenc in order to use the anamorphics, which totally fixes the too-tallness of them.

You are so smart. I can convert SVCDs to VCD with a combo of DVD2AVI and TMPGenc - I wonder if it will work for XSVCDs (I have one somewhere - I should figure out where - I could really use the harddrive space) - I'm gonna try out this Samsung w/ SVCDs tonight and if it does the same thing as the Mintek, I'll know it's just me and my incompetence w/ the burner. I'll also be begging for the VCDeasy help. If so -I am returning the Samsung for the Mintek ($20 cheaper and sooo much cuter).

Lilah *hangs head* a memorium is planned. As long as bosses everywhere deserve beheading, she will not be forgotten.

Cordy was so pulling the strings last night. This is one of those episodes that will inspire deep analyzation from me.

I was totally unspoiled for this episode. I don't think I've ever been more surprised in my life. I knew Lilah was going to die (they brought her back, after all), but christ! After all the shrieking, my first thoughts were "Oh, the Headtilt ladies aren't gunna like this..."
