Posting Binge Continues...

So I just realized that three of the vids I was considering as replacements were all in the comedy show last year and man o man. It just ain't funny unless it is meta-funny.
I need a moment.
Someone suggested Lionel/Lex as a mindfuck pairing and here is where I have to admit my total Smallville ignorance: I've only seen one L/L vid, and it did not work for me due to sloppy editing. And I am hard-pressed to think of any truly meta looks at SV beyond "A Morality Tale" but again - I have not seen that many SV vids. Also - "A Morality Tale" was in the comedy show last year - right?? Or was it in Nearly New? Wait - there was the Lex vid to "I Can Change" in the Comedy Show - was AMT also there? A Hero's Tale was in it and that works on many a meta level for me, but I wanted another Lum vid more.
In other news, I am currently listening to my new mix from
heres_luck: The Exuberance Mix: Indie Pop with a Post-Disco Coda - I think that is the title. I'm bad with words and letters and remembering the order of things so bear with me. I can never spell certain words - like convience - wait that is not right - convinience - nope not right again. Okay - 10,000 Pyramid Rules Apply: "The word I can not spell wants to make things easy for you - it is a kind of store. 7/11 is a ____ store. I only want a boyfriend when it is a ______. If I was to marry a dude just to combine farmland and it was a total business arrangement, that would be a marriage of ______ "
Bingo. I cannot spell that word. I have like a block.
tzikeh figured out why I could not spell Orinoco last night and now I think I can spell it. I suspect the reason I cannot spell the other word is probably "i before e" related. Also the "n" fucks me up all the time.
What was I saying? Oh yes - the new mix. Man - I have been listening to it for like 24 hours and already I am on repeat and obsessed with one song. This is probably a record. And just cause I know h.l. likes to know these kinds of things - it is "Baby" by Imperial Teen. I don't know - something about the song really appeals to me. It makes me think of High School and watching football games -only really sophisticated. And so I started thinking about what I could vid it to - natch. And I was all wondering if it would work as a Nicole vid for "Popular" with Mary Cherry accents cause I love her, and Popular comes out on DVD in October and then I decided it would not work for Freaks and Geeks, although - really - to be fair - I should probably *watch* Freaks and Geeks before I totally dismiss it. But I don't think it is slick enough. Neither is My So Called Life.
So I was getting nowhere, wondering what this song was about, but I was all wanting to have pom-poms somewhere in the vid - and not willing, thusly to give up the idea of high school as a setting. 90210 is out cause, just no. Not vidding that. BtVS doesn't want to be this vid, although it *could* work. I could make it fit although that would be a tight squeeze. And I know the reason I want pom-poms is cause of the "whoo"s in the song - but dude. That woo needs at least one pom -y'know? Also - the more I listen to the song while driving, the closer I come to wrecking my car cause I have to do a shoulder dip at the "whoo."
Naturally, by this point, I am actively considering a Torrance/Missy "Bring It On" vid and really, I need to call an end to the insanity.
Then I realized that Baby is Lana Lang. This is a Clark/Lana/Lex vid. And now I am happy cause I was really worried there for a minute that I'd have to vid Kirsten Dunst. This makes up for the SV fic I was reading the other day - it was really long and kinda flat (not poorly written, just flat), but I was excited cause I thought the author was dropping hints that Lex was a robot and really - I have this total thing for man-bots and androids that I like to blame on "Bionic Woman" (cause she battled them, yo) and then it turned out that no one was a robot - it was just me inferring it from the roboto-y foreshadowing that apparently did not exist. I was disappointed. I mean - how can you tell a story that has a total *need* for a Robotic Lex Luthor and just not go there? I ask you, how?

Date: 2004-07-02 02:04 pm (UTC)That's kind of similar to convene, which is to get together for a gathering of some sort. So I would think, a convenience store is a gathering of crap I probably shouldn't buy. Hopefully you could also remember to remove the e and put on the ience. I noticed from your spelling attempts that the ience didn't seem to be a problem.
I used to always misspell sacrilegious and I got around the problem using something similar. For some reason I always thought the root word was religious when in reality is is sacrilege. Trying to spell it thinking of religious always resulted in an extra i.
Anyway, sorry to barge into your journal but spelling is one of the few things I am actually good at so I thought I would share.

Date: 2004-07-02 04:18 pm (UTC)OMG!!!! (Enough exclamation?) You have to make that vid. I'll make sure
Plus, we saw Spider-Man 2 last night, and I for one could use that vid to remind myself that Kirsten Dunst was once likeable. But hey, if you made an Isis/Missy/Darcy vid, I wouldn't complain.

Date: 2004-07-02 04:46 pm (UTC)I love you SO MUCH. Also, I am really amused that *this* is your first obsesso-song. It is not the one I would have guessed.
Also? You like the bonus track! Yay!
In conclusion: please do not wreck your car, especially not with you in it.

Date: 2004-07-02 08:12 pm (UTC)Does it make me a bad person that seeing that comment in the last post made me want to watch Lex/Lionel videos? A lot? Or even make my own? Because it did. I feel so dirty... *g*
Linzee
Back with the linkage...for that Farscape vid...
Date: 2004-07-02 09:01 pm (UTC)And speaking of cheek pats...Feelin' Love Birgit's award winning vid with the sexual heat is also a nice diversion if you like the J/A ship at all. Nice work with the sex even if you don't like the ship, imho...though I know nothing of the fade-cut and the clip tweak. Several people with no interest in Farscape have commented on the heat of this vid. I'm all..."Now, let's watch Southwest Voodoo"...and they're all..."Can we see the Farscape one again? This vidding thing is very interesting."
Find both vids at Birgit's Vid Page (http://www.birgitsvids.com/)
