sisabetYes indeedy - High Holy Day - Your Day of Obligation - has rolled around yet again and if you think that I am thinking that I'm thinking that this most wonderful day of days' time is limited, well you would be wrong.
Instead I am thinking about a Wild Bunch remake cast with Angel characters. It really works in my head.
I'm also thinking that time is running out on Joss actually giving me the Old West Angel/Spike flashback that I have waited so patiently for. Seriously - since last year I have been asking for this - and I don't think I am being greedy. All I want is Angel and Spike circa 1880's blowing off steam in a wild Western town, where they paint the town red, share a sheriff and one of those old time steel bathtubs. Also, chaps. Possibly spurs. Most definitely black hats.
My needs are simple and easily met. Without this, I fear I will never be able to vid "Pancho and Lefty" and dude - that needs to be vidded.

Has anyone written a Wild West flashback fic? Would someone like to? It is really easy to get them there - Boys on Vacation. Think City Slickers, but evil. Well, more evil. Think High Noon - but more midnight. Think about Angel wearing cowboy boots strolling down the dust covered main street and the night is a dark blue behind him. The camera is focused behind Angel's boots at ground level and we see the dust swirl around his legs and we see the The gunslinger the law called in to take care of him, draw and shoot and Angel keeps advancing slowly, absorbing the bullets impact, we see his legs stop and jerk with each shot, but he never falls down and he gets closer and closer to the gunslinger as his bullets run out and we see the horror dawn on his face as the camera pans up to him...Then cut to Angel's face, orgasmic in the moonlight, with a thin trickle of blood at the corner of his mouth.
Think about Spike in the saloon - all the patrons are terrified and he is kinda wired on that - feeding on the fear and he is bouncing around with his drink - making the pianist play and the girls keep dancing and sits down to a poker game. All the players are shaking and nervous and Spike is joking around with them as the dealer trembles and drops the cards as he tries to shuffle. A lone cowboy near the swinging doors tries to take this moment as an opportunity to slip out and Spike, his gaze never wavering from the dealer, reaches out and grabs the gun strapped to the man at his left and fires a single shot into the deserter near the door's head. He then asks the dealer what he is waiting for, no one but him is getting any younger here. Then he smiles.
I hate the WB with a passion that burns.

But I must say your scenario for the Wild West is stuck in my head..."Crimson Babylon"...Spike is aching to tell me all about their trek through the Nevada desert to the lawless mining town of Babylon. This community of about 200 souls was ompletely wiped out by something and is mentioned in a 1883 paper with the headline, "Babylon has fallen."

Third - I think you could do it. I have no doubt TBQ could do it and I also think Anna S could do it. I think ya'll should make it a ficathon and we could call if Keep Liz from Jumping off a Bridge Wild West ficathon and I'll post all the stories (or links to) at headtilt and cry and cry and cry. Then I caved in and bought The Good the Bad and The Ugly on dvd. Then I caved in and bought Firefly (which Im starting to watch now).
