I'm actually physically afraid of watching "Wonderfalls" tonight because I am pretty certain I will like it and if I like it and it develops into a show I love - well then FOX will kill it. One way or another, Fox will slice and dice it up.

However, if I don't watch it and I have no feelings for it, then maybe Fox will leave it alone (it is all about *me* you see. Really, it is. Here in this sacred holy LJ space it is all about me. And ME. And Angel, but he works for ME). If Fox leaves it alone, it might have a decent run, generating quality eps and a well-mannered and enthusiastic fan-base. I could then concievably be pimped to the show at a gathering with one of those same well-mannered fen and catch up to the show via the DVDs that are certain to be released and become rabid and rapt in the third season.

Yes. This will be my plan. Tonight I will watch "Invisible Man" and get all misty about poor Darien and his season 2 suffering. For I should *finally* have S2 by tonight. I hope. Oh, God - Do I ever hope.

Or you could just ask your friends who watched it what they thought. If their opinions are of the "eh" variety, then you know you're not missing much. It's like Tru Calling, which has managed to survive a whole season, mostly because you avoided it.

You are so right. All these shows I don't watch - they stick around forever. Like Friends and that one with Kelsey Grammer. Children that were born when those shows premiered are attending high school now.

Wonderfalls is *finally* debut-ing??

Hmmmm, you're right though- if I watch & want more, it will be canceled by the 3rd episode.
maybe if I tape- but don't watch live, it will not jinx things.
Which Joss-verse writer is with this one??

Tim Minear, and the guy who created Dead Like Me, are the head writers.

That's it! Tim! Hmmm, still should probably stick to taping rather than watching live so as not to jinx things...

My S2 finished yesterday, but I haven't been home long enough to watch anything! And I really want to watch these with my roommate. I've discovered it's much more fun watching TV with two people.

*heh* We watched 1776 last weekend -- she'd rented it to watch when her mom was in town, but it showed up too late, so we decided to give it a chance. I felt I had to point out the unrequired love between the secretary and G. Washington, and she said I read too much slash.

I mean, honestly, is that possible?

AAAAA!! 1776!! Dammit, I meant to put John Adams on my list of fictional characters I'd do. Of course, John Adams is *not* fictional, but the 1776 version with William Daniels is a fictionalized account...

I always thought Jefferson/Adams had a strange chemistry... though the mechanics would be difficult because of the height differential.

God, I love that musical.

It was a great musical - neither one of us had seen it, and we both really enjoyed it. I can see the Jefferson/Adams thing, but can't go there because they were both so in love with their wives. Though Adams was kinda pandering there... :-> He's so wonderfully obnoxious and disliked!

But that secretary - man, he was just ~PINING~ for GW! I kept saying, "See? Look! It's true!" and my roommate kept yelling, "stop it! stop it!" and pelting me with pillows. :->

It's one of my all-time favorites. And if you think Adams was in love with his wife in the movie, you should read their true story. The love songs they sang to one another are taken mostly word-for-word, with some fudging to make rhymes, from their correspondence during the era.

Eberts!

Eventually, this will make sense.

One of the very reasons I do NOT get involved with TV anymore. I'm tired of the disapointments damn it.

It looks like you can watch Wonderfalls without guilt. From Tim Minear:

Q: Why should we watch Wonderfalls?

I think it’s good. Also, it adds up to something. Look, I’ve, um, seen them all. The story arc of it really starts heating up around episode 6. So do stick with us for the first 13 episodes. If for no other reason, when you see the twenty miracles that Caroline Dhavernas’ face performs in the last shot of episode 13, you will be glad you stayed.

And don’t fret about network plug-pulling. I have trod this road before and I’ve cleared the way of minefields for you. I can promise that if we only ever get to 13, it’ll be worth it and you won’t feel cheated.

I'm still gonna hunker down with I-Man tonight.

You know, in planning what I will watch, there are probably other shows that have a better teaser/opener than "My Brother's Keeper." I've never seen them, but I am sure they exist.

I have yet to recover from My So-Called Life being pulled after one season. It's not healthy to get attached to a television show. Uh, well...

:: ponders BtVS obsession ::

Nevermind that. What was I saying? Oh yes, no watchie Wonderfalls. Could become obsession. Bad to have another obsession. Want Spike. Want Xangel. Want Billeh. Want Orlijah. Can't keep adding to the list of wants!

Oh Shit! Obsessions are bad??? Crap - I had no idea. Good thing I don't have any.

I mean it would just be sad.

Especially considering that I like to think of myself as a well-rounded person.

It was only brought to my attention recently that crazy bozos some people think obsessions are bad, but I'm not entirely convinced. :: waves hand at thousands of LOTR trading cards :: Clearly.

Go ahead and watch. Aside from a lesbian sister, so far this show is like Ione Skye playing Ally McBeal....

If the curse extends to CBS, don't start watching Joan of Arcadia. I like that show.
