sisabetI was kind of bored. I've been wanting some new QaF fic and I have been getting it - but just not enough. Sorry, Austria - ya'll have got to start cranking out more. wrenlet's NaNoWriMo project, she may issue a restraining order. I just can't help it. Reaper Boy is Dead Like Me meets QaF. She killed Justin, and still gets to keep him around, drawing and hanging with Rube and you just know there is so much she can do with this that I want more now.
So let's talk about vids, shall we? Cause I'm never gonna write an epic - but I'll probably make more vids. Maybe. Someday. I think I will.

But I have not come here to bitch about my vid-ennui, but to praisevrya for she has made almighty "How the Fuck Did She Do That?" vids. Seriously, she is inspiring as all hell, and chances are if you friended me it was because of the vids or josselin made you and you have never seen a fan-vid before. If that is the case then go ahead and update your realplayer now and get ready to Download. I don't care if you've never watched an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Angel in your life. That is irrelevant. I've never seen "Invisible Man" but vids have taught me about the pure and true love of Darien and Bobby Hobbes. I've never seen an episode past season one of Highlander, but I am a total Methos-Slut. So go watch and enjoy, dammit. Or I might get testy.
Why am I all of a sudden allvrya, vrya, vrya? Well, I've always liked her vids but now - damn. She has done what I thought was almost impossible and made a fresh and original Spike vid. You know how it seems as if Spike is all overvidded and you can't really find any new material and blah, blah, the source is tired and overused, blah blah?
vrya scoffs at that. Really she scoffed. Go - watch Schism. It is just incredible. I was agape and then the ending knocked me on the floor. Even if you don't like Spike - especially if you don't like Spike and hell - even if you have never heard of Spike before today (and where ya been, under a rock? The most excellent kerfluffles develop over Spike) go watch this video.
But that is not all ofvrya's stuff - just the latest. She has been fairly consistent in posting vids that are just original as all get out.
Sleep Alone: This is a very different look at Angel and Buffy and I have been known to just watch this one on repeat for over an hour. I love how she can use repeating footage to such a moving effect and her ability to manipulate the source has been something I find myself wanting to mimic. Until I saw "Schism" - "Sleep Alone" was one of my favorite vids of hers. It still is - but now I can't pick a favorite.
Detour: Hottest Lilah/Wes vid I have ever seen. This vid is just hot, period.
The Bright Side: I remember how happy I was to see this vid posted last year. It is a very different look at season 6 Buffy and just wonderfully balanced and fun. I was so tired of all the "Buffy is a Bitch Who is Mean to Poor Spike" vids that were proliferating and thenvrya made this, her first vid. Fucking charming as hell.
Oh - More Funny: 21 Vidlets: you just have to see it. I can't tell you about it. You just have to see it. What's that blue thing, doing here
Oh - Not Funny at all: Killer: It is so interesting that Willow turned into Warren a long time before "The Killer In Me" - this vid is very intense and I like that she pulls no punches with the material. Again, she manipulates some of the source in such a way that it just has to be like that for the vid. I particularly love the what she starts doing at 0:49 - again taking a scene that is essentially over-used and making it exist as brand new in the scope of her vid.
