Angel 5x04 "Hellbound"
Oct. 22nd, 2003 10:48 pmCutting to talk about tonights ep
As I already told Valerie - I am so not spoiled. If I had been spoiled I never would have posted about "Closer" - but now I have some theories:
Since I am never (hardly ever) right about a storyline's potential direction - I have decided that this "both Angel and Spike are damned" deal is a fake-out for something else. But I am enjoying it while it lasts and I was so happy to see Angel acknowledge some of the things we've suspected about him for awhile now. He no longer believes in the Shanshu - or any prophecy either and he didn't escape Hell so much as he is on a temporary break. Oh, and he is going soooooo dark. So very dark.
Also - Stephen DeKnight: I love you. A Hubble Space Photo Gallery Tribute Page is no longer enough. Must come up with suitable offering...
As long as Eve keeps her mouth kind of shut, I'll tolerate her.
Wes and Gunn were cute, but I'm worried about Wes. I keep yelling at the TV about the mindwipe but I don't think he hears me.
I actually thought Fred was pretty cool this ep and kinda adorable - I always like her when she is writing on walls and anyone that does mathematical theories "On the fly" is cool in my book. Plus, she was really, very kind to Spike and yeah - that gets to me. Shut up.
Theory I've had for a while: Spike killed Nikki Wood in NY in the '70's. Angel was in NY in the '70's. They had to have seen each other. Spike had to have ignored the soul. Why? Well, Spike makes the crack about souled rumors in "School Hard" - so it has not been the topic of conversation yet, and Spike knows Angel likes Manilow. This is the only possible explanation. Oh, and I decided a long time ago that Angel's silver lighter in "Are You Know or Have You Ever Been" is the same as Spike's lighter (y'know - the one Buffy steals in "Gone") and Angel had to have given it to him during the New York encounter. Hell - maybe that is why he went to snacking on the doughnut boy. He was hanging around Spike and got all riled up. It happens.
I love that Spike called Angel, Liam. Dawn was all moved by it as well. We don't think Darla even remembers that is Angel's real name. Sniff. And the fact that Angel likes Spike's poetry - Spike's freakin' mother doesn't even like his poetry!!! HOW MUCH MORE OTP CAN YOU BE?! These boys are destined/fated/prophecied to get it on toot sweet.
Now all Spike has to do is want Angel's cock badly enough and then he can...hee - did I say that out loud?
