Maybe Brian not wearing the bracelet has nothing to do with Justin at all. Maybe he just doesn't want to wear it anymore after he lent it to Ted.

Brian could have been rightfully worried that some of Ted's aura would have carried over to him!

BTW- downloaded from Sandstorm's site the blooper real from S2 dvd last night- & giggled constantly for nearly a half an hour. Notably Randy didn't seem to have any gafs... Peter & Hal seemed to be the 2 most likely to laugh, & Sharon Gless the most likely to swear. & Gale? just too cute caught out-of-scene.

As much as I would love to think that CowLip imbued season three with that much subtle symbolism....I just don't have that much faith in them anymore.

Especially after the tattered rainbow flag and the black and white footage, which was just like...DUDE. No SHIT.

I've seen that theory... but... but. Argh. I want it to have something to do with Justin, because in my squealy fangirlish moments I want everything Brian does in season three to have something to do with Justin.

(Chances are? It got lost in the back of the prop closet or some shit and they couldn't find another one like it until the Nephew episode. So Gale just didn't wear it and the writers just didn't mention it. Would figure, wouldn't it?)

Yeah - except he stops wearing it after the Ted scene. I mean, he has it on and then *poof* no bracelet. And it coincides both with Justin and with Ted. So I have to attribute one or the other. I'm just saying, here I get all gushy cause I think it is because of Brian's deep inner pain over losing Justin and it's probably just his not so deep Ted-ick.

See, I thought the b&w becoming colorized thru the rainbow flag was just adorable in its obviousness. I was all "Oh, how cute. Look at them making their Wizard of Oz statement. I'm gonna get their nose, oh yes I am, I'm gonna get their nose..." and I would continue on, but it is just embarrassing.

Just to jump in. If you look really closely at the bowling scene / competition, Brian is wearing the bracelet. This is post-Ted wearing it for the failed orgy. Then at the bar for the Michael "where's Justin?", we don't see Brian's wrist. The final scene, the loft kiss, the bracelet is gone forever until the one time S3 appearance with the nephew.

Seems like a statement by the writers/directors/producers to me. The dialogue indicates that this is a major moment in Brian's life and things are going to change. He says something like

B: 3 cheers to the winners
J: congratulations
B: it wasn't us

The double meaning is pretty obvious. Brian was laid bare in this ep and the finale. Seemed necessary to remove the bracelet. JMO.
