Johnny Cash died. I am not shocked, but very very sad. It is almost like losing a family member. A family member that I didn't know very well, but one that has been around all my life. Dawn woke me up and told me, much the same way she told me our grandfather died last year. I knew it was coming, I saw photos of him at June's memorial service and poor man. But still, this is someone whose musical influence and presense was just a part of my life, naturally. I don't remember there *not* being a JC in my head, in my ears, all around.

John Ritter died as well - I can't process a dead Jack Tripper, so I'm just gonna go take a shower and go to work and not think about it.

I thought about calling in today. I'll suck it up and go to work.
