First of all - much love to [livejournal.com profile] heres_luck for the current icon -- and to everyone that responded to my request. I need more icons space,yo. Ten is not enough.

Today I have accomplished almost everything I needed to do - except for working on Mission Temple. I thought about it a lot, does that count? Instead of actually doing anything on that front, I listened to "Ride With Me" by Nelly and tried to make it about Lindsey/Angel. So I've got Lindsey telling Angel:

I like the way you brush your hair
And I like those stylish clothes you wear
I like the way the light hit the ice and glare
And i can see you movin way over there

And then I have Angel responding later in the vid:

So if shorty wanna knock
We knockin to this
And if shorty wanna rock we rockin to this
And if shorty wanna pop we poppin the criss
Shorty wanna see the ice then I ice the wrist

It's great in my head. Ya'll it's a freaking sickness, I swear.

Dawn posted the Brian/Justin QaF vid today - I'll talk and link to it later. I think I need to go to this party and get a few drinks under my belt before I comment on it. It is quite a... departure from my usual to say the least. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. I'm uncomfortable around the schmoop apparently. Give me a good ole hate-lust-fest any day. I can work with that.

Query: Any of my Southern Baptist friends wanna tackle this question? You get saved first? Right? Then the baptism comes later? I grew up Non-denominational (but in a S.B. town so I should know this, but now I'm flummoxed). The Non-Demominationals dunk you as soon as you decide to do it - no waiting around for them.

Er, ahem. (http://www.livejournal.com/users/evemac/52248.html)

Pimp it. Pimp it EVERYWHERE.

Also, I will never be able to hear that song, ever again without giggling insanely.

Yeah, you get saved first, then you're baptised in front of the congregation as a symbol of your faith. There's a whole imagery thing going on, like coming up a new person and all. But it's not at all a requirement in everything. I barely remember mine, I was six. (my mother swears to me I knew what was going on, but really, I was *six*.)

I was raised Baptist, although not Southern Baptist. But the church I grew up in had people do it as sort of a reconfirmation of the person's faith, after being saved first, yes. You usually had to take a short class (couple of weeks on Sunday) to be sure you understood it, and really young kids weren't baptised. The youngest I ever saw baptised was 10 or so; it was assumed the younger ones might not understand what they were doing.
