drdawn informs me and Cappy that she has yet another date tonight. Not with the Frenchman - no, that is tomorrow. Tonight the guy coming over is a dude she met at The Atomic Cafe this weekend. At some point she mentions that he is twenty.
Me: He is not twenty.
Dawn and Cappy laugh.
Me: He's twenty?
Dawn: Well, I didn't know it at the time. I mean he was in a bar so I assumed he was at least twenty-one.
I look at Dawn. Take a bite of dragon roll. Wait a beat.
Me: So what time is the twink coming over?
Later on Dawn starts freaking out because she can't find her license.
Me: Don't worry - ya'll can't go anywhere he might be carded anyway.
Dawn: Shut up. I'm glad you find this entertaining.
Me: Oh it is highly entertaining in that trashy, Jenny Jones sorta way. Don't think for a second that the twink is gonna sit around and drink my beer tonight. That would be contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Cue gales of laughter from me and Cappy.
Me: Oh - I bought some root beer in the bottle for Cappy today. He can drink that!
He thinks Dawn is 28. That makes me 25. I can live with that.
