I would do a con report, but I seriously can't remember half of what I did this weekend. I'm also reeeeaallly sleepy. Maybe tomorrow as my only plans for tomorrow are lying around and lying around.

So, instead of telling y'all about Vividcon which was shiny and wonderful (as it should be), I shall tell you about the END of Vividcon and such except I kind of don't know what day it is.

Like, I know yesterday morning is where my story should start, but Monday-Tuesday is kinda like ONE GREAT BIG DAY for me (filled with many breakfasts) and let me explain why:

Yesterday morning, Monday, I lingered upon saying goodbye to [personal profile] fan_eunice and [personal profile] absolutedestiny and since Cappy and [personal profile] sweetestdrain didn't seem to be in any bigger hurry than I was to leave, we went with a pack of fen to the diner down the street for breakfast. At breakfast, somehow I mentioned to Cappy that it was too bad she had to work on Tuesday since that meant we couldn't stay in Chicago longer. She told me that she didn't have to go back to work until Wednesday, they'd changed her schedule and she told me this last week.

...

I swear she didn't.

Here is where the story gets really crazy and kinda fun - we decided since we didn't need to get back Monday night - we could go hang at [personal profile] pipsqueaky's with The Pipsqueaky Bunch and just leave Monday night and I'd drive until we got past Indy and then Cappy could take over and we'd just take turns and we would get a few more precious hours with people we don't see nearly as often as we should.

BRILLIANT FUCKING IDEA!!!! Everyone was totally on board with this plan. Gerry wrote down directions from the hotel to Pips' place and Eunice made copies and we were off! (after very sad goodbyes at the hotel with people who have the audacity to live on OTHER SIDES of the country and such and had to fly away or drive home on Monday)

Cappy and I got into an argument/discussion about something - not really sure - and missed the exit, thus rendering the directions Gerry and Eunice had taken such pains with completely useless. Even without directions, I still got us there and, unfortunately, I got us there before anyone else had arrived (I still don't know how this was possible).  Since we all had to pee, I suggested the most logical thing to do, which was walk to the lake and take a few pictures. I mean, when you really have to go - there is nothing like looking at a large body of water to really help with that, right?

These are the kind of ideas I have - I don't understand why anyone listens to me, ever.

Anyhoo, eventually we were all reunited and [personal profile] dualbunny is very talented and whatnot and did really impressive things on the fly with shoes,  and we ordered food (always important) and went to the movies and laughed our asses off and got lost on the way back to Pips and I saw the same DSW from all sides and actually thought there was one on every corner in Chicago, until I realized [personal profile] renenet was driving by the same one in new and interesting ways and it wasn't even Chicago at this point, I think it was SKOKIE and we laughed our asses off and I explained the entire plot of "I Know Who Killed Me" because it was really important that people understand STIGMATIC TWINS and then there was Apples to Apples and me napping during Apples to Apples and then waking up and playing and I'm sure [personal profile] jarrow will document this much better than I, complete with hilarious quotes, so I want to get a pre-emptive "What he said" in there and then, somehow, it was almost 2:30 am and I realized that this meant it was 3:30am at home and so we left.

I don't remember much about the ride out of Chicago, other than it was dark and mostly only me and the big rigs and I had a hard time getting from 90 to 65, but we did it and then, once firmly established in Indiana, I stopped for coffee.  At this point I was a bit insane with NEEDING the coffee and it took me over 10 minutes to actually *fix* it.  I felt better about my mental status when I realized that as tired as I was, [personal profile] sweetestdrain had stood and *watched* me prepare coffee for over ten minutes (she didn't nap during Apples to Apples), so I could have been even more exhausted. It was all relative, you know?

Cappy never even woke up at this rest stop. She was asleep before we hit the first toll out of Chicago and cranky about waking up to find change. She would stay knocked out to the world until after 7am when we stopped below Indy and I explained to her that either we all take a nap or she needed to drive to Louisville. She drove and that is when I remembered why I normally always drive the entire way.

God, the fear.

Eventually, we got home and collapsed and then later, Cappy and I went and got Bubu and Sid at the kennel. Sid was thrilled to be leaving (they said he did very good and his nose was not skinned up, which is how I know he is much less stressed at this place than he was at Keshlyn). I don't think Bubu wanted to leave -- he totally had the little girl working the reception desk fooled. She kept opening his carrier to get him out and say goodbye and told Cappy that she wanted to take him home.   I tried to tell her Bubu was evil, but she would hear none of it.

Apparently, Bubu had this poor girl walking him around so he could see the dogs in their kennels when she did checks. He would cuddle in her arms and purr (WTF???) as she did visuals on the dogs.  She said he was CUDDLY! I wanted to tell her he was only purring out of satisfaction that the dogs were all locked up in kennels, befitting their status in the world, but she is convinced Bubu is all sweetness and light.

Bubu is an asshole, but to each her own.

We got the animals home and Sid did his "OMG I AM HOME!! YES!" mad dash around the house, got every single toy he owns out of his basket and briefly said hello to it and unpacked his toys that went to the kennel by himself before collapsing in an exhausted heap. He's still asleep.  I got my second wind and made a HOMEMADE DINNER, OMG! and Cappy and I caught up on Venture Brothers and Mad Men and then I started typing this.

Now I am off to read SGA Big Bang stories and sleep. Eventually, I will be posting links to vids I made but that will wait until later. I miss Vividcon, but if it had lasted a few more days, I probably would have been hospitalized. SLEEP!! Yes.
