So Dawn and I were trying to decide what to watch tonight - I nixed buying 8 Mile on pay-per-view again and we would have watched Lethal Weapon II, but someone would have had to walk over to the DVD player and put it in and the boy was outside. Since neither of us were about making the drastic action of actually moving we watched "Swept Away" on pay-per-view instead. I gave Dawn a choice - when she found out that SA involved Madonna-abuse she picked it over "Bourne Identity" and the promised amnesiatic Matt Damon.
Halfway thru the movie:
Dawn: "You know, it isn't that hard to write a movie."
Sisabet: "Hmmmm... is this third musical montage Guy Ritchie's 'shipper vid'?"
Dawn: "The hard part is writing a good movie."
Sisabet: "Omigod, that effect is cheesy! I can do that effect with After Effects and I can't do anything with After Effects!" *
At the end of the movie
Dawn: "You know the problem is that she didn't save him right back."
And that ladies and gentlemen (actually, only like one guy ever read this thing *waves Hi to UB* so gentleman)is my sister's Bulletproof Kink (I'd TM who came up with it but I just watched Swept Away. My brain hurts): saving someone right back. Ever since she saw "Pretty Woman" and threw her popcorn at the screen in disgust she has been a sucker for someone saving someone right back, believably. Seriously, I have to stop that movie at the scene in the limo now or listen to to her rant for hours.
Last night I said that Lindsey needs to come back to Angel (I say this every few weeks as a matter of course), this time I added that it would be interesting in light of recent events. Dawn got all excited and said, "Yes! So Lindsey could save Angel right back!"
Dammit. I just turned to Encore and "Die Hard" is going off. We coulda been watching "Die Hard" instead. We actually should watch it, for research purposes. A coupla years ago I heard that Bruce Willis was wanting to do Broadway (or maybe I dreamed it - anybody's guess really) and I decided he needed to be in Die Hard: The Musical! - we actually worked out production numbers and cast a few roles (Meatloaf plays the fat cop that helps out John McClain on the outside). I can't write the score though. Sucks, cause I really think it could be a hit.
sisbet goes and buries her big Broadway dreams
* I actually can make a "y" move with AE. Just for the record.

Date: 2003-05-09 08:14 pm (UTC)As for 'Swept Away', I've seen the original European movie and it's waay too funny. In a European way. Only Europeans would make a movie where the rich bitch gets stranded with the sweaty, hairy poor man who smasks the shit out of her to teach her some respect, then later on screws her in the ass and they fall in love. Ah yes.
And only Americans would write a film where the rich guy learns from, falls in love with and saves the hooker. The hooker With the Heart of Gold.
Oh, and I wrote a song for "Die Hard! The Musical!"
Die Hard!
Look out! You're all gonna
Die Hard!
When you think that you have got
John Maclean
In pain
with his feet all bloody
and his wife at gunpoint
You're wrong! You're gonna
Die Hard!
Look out!
Smarmy European terrorist don't scare him
He'll wrap a chain
Around your brother's neck
What the heck!
Then he'll blow you all
Tooooooo Hellllllll!

Bwah!
And Bruce Willis sings, too. I distinctly remember owning his tape and listening to his versions of "under the boardwalk" and "secret agent man" over and over again.

I *will* be updating my lj every so often during my travels. It's not called Xia GT(Grand Tour) for nothing.
So you won't be deprived of your Xia fix while I'm abroad. ;-)
