So I have been tagged by [livejournal.com profile] tzikeh to list five reasons that I am a dork. I think just linking to my five past LJ entries, while appropriate, would be cheating. So I shall meme away!

Top Five Dorkitude Moments In My Life

1. I not only purchased the "Josie and the Pussycats" soundtrack - I loved it. Yeah. That's right. You heard me. I am a punk rock prom queen! Sing it!

2. I apologize to dogs/cats/small animals when I trip over them. That is actually not dorky - that is just polite. I also tell them "excuse me" when I walk past them in hallways. If I walk into a wall (happens fairly frequently) I will say "excuse me" to the wall. If I sneeze? I will say "Bless me" cause I am kinda used to people not being around and I MUST BE BLESSED AFTER SNEEZING!

3. To decorate my new apartment (what was my new apartment), I ended up framing a bunch of comic books that I liked. Mostly Superman, but I did frame the Batman issue where Bane is breaking Batman's back over his knee, despite the fact that the Knightfall series is what drove me away from comic books for over ten years.

4. I can say things like "despite the fact that the Knightfall series is what drove me away from comic books for over ten years."

5. So like - I watched Due South. Well the first 3 seasons and The Call of the Wild. And the entire story of me ordering and getting the series is a lesson in Dorkdom but not one that belongs here. That should be its own post (and I *have* to figure out a way to get my hands on season 4, and I am trusting in my dorkness to lead the way). No the thing that makes me a big ole dork is that the hottest thing I have seen in the series is not Buddy Breathing (although I appreciate the classics. That is right up there. I did appreciate that entire sequence). It is not even Vecchio with the belt (although - hot like whoa).

No, the hottest thing I have yet to see, in fact one of the hottest things I have ever seen, period, was Benton Fraser in church. Yes. Pretty man wearing blue singing in the choir. Yowsa. My mother's imprinting apparently took and I just didn't realize for thirty years but that scene makes me weak in the knees.

Because I am a big Dork.

I now tag [livejournal.com profile] heres_luck, [livejournal.com profile] renenet, [livejournal.com profile] kadymae, [livejournal.com profile] laurashapiro (cause she is bored and needs something to do) and former birthday girl and all-around-Lex-Dork, [livejournal.com profile] linzeems for this meme.

*gives you a big fellow dork hug*

I also own the soundtrack for 'Josie and the Pussycats' and I listen to it on a regular basis. I have also been known to dance around the living room and sing along to it.

1. ME TOO! And I like it! Not in the ironic way you are supposed to like the Du Jour tracks, which actually do nothing for me. I like the girl singer tracks. They remind me of my favorite songs in high school. I have them on my iPod.

2. would be me except that I avoid small animals too much to trip over them. I do, however, apologize to inanimate objects when I bang into them.

I tend to cuss out inanimate objects for *daring* to be in my way, but if it has a face, I apologize. This means, though, that I did say I was sorry to N's pen-and-ink self portrait when I knocked it over the other day when Liza and I were cleaning out the back room.

Dork? I think so. Also? I have a Word document icon. How dorky is THAT?

Yes. Well, I say 'Gesundheit' because I grew up with a family who for whatever reason did not say 'Bless you' for sneezes, but yes.

Eeek. I've been worried someone would tag me with this. *g*

Could someone maybe offer a good definition of "dork" before I comply? I'm not sure that my "dork" is the same as your "dork", ya know? Like, how is "dorky" different from "geeky"? How is it different from "fannish", for that matter?

I say "bless you" to my pets whenever they sneeze. Or any animal that I'm around and hear sneeze. It's only polite.

5. I am actually there with you. He's so pretty. And then when he's in the confessional in "Victoria's Secret." And also when he is all scarred up and sitting in the lunchroom after Zuko's thugs beat the crap out of him in "The Deal." (Which has nothing to do with Fraser in church, but everything to do with him being pretty.)

Though Vecchio...belt...mmm...

I'm too tired to remember the ways in which I am a dork. Well, not all at once. I can remember the expression on h.l's face and the tone in her voice as she turns to me (quite regularly) and says "you dork!" but it's contextless. I'm so at home in my dorkiness that it is invisible! I'm such a dork that I can't be busy and think at the same time! I'll get back to you next week.

Season Four of dS will supposedly be out in September.

Translated, this means spring of 2006. Or possibly summer.

Nice

I don't think framing comic books is dorky, I think it's ingenious. I wanna do that now!

Ooo, which Superman comics? I must know so I can imagine the coolness more properly. I mean, dorkyness. Yeah. Dorkyness.

If you vidded to the Josie soundtrack (which I, too, love completely unironically), I might die of squee.

Seriously. DEAD. And it would be worth it.

Oh, man, I do number two. All the time. I say "bless me" even when there's a crowd of people around because I'm so used to their not being, and I always say "excuse me" and "sorry" if I need to get around or bump into animals. Even when I'm driving in my car and I upset the quail that live on our corner by startling them with my car, which admittedly with it's bobby antenna and it's shiny silver paint must look like some sort of horrible heathen Quail God come to take them all away from their angle.

Haha, I knew searching your most recent twenty entries for "due South" would turn up something I'd missed.

You want S4? [livejournal.com profile] cranberryink gifted me with most of the set a few months ago, and then in June I finished downloading AVIs of the rest of the S4 episodes and all of S3. I'd be happy to send you disks. They're not DVD-playable, but you're a vidder...you can figure something out. (And if you can MAKE them DVD-playable, I'll pay you money to make me a set in return. *G*!!)
