I have no idea if this information is at all helpful to you, but I was having trouble with jerkiness and audio on some .avi files--LOL rips among them--on both WMV and DivX Player, but then I uninstalled DivX Player and installed Media Player Classic and ffdshow and have had no problems with playback since (which is the ONLY time in my life a fix has ever been that simple).
